After being passed over by Microsoft, because they're like stupid or something, the WiiWare platform will soon get its hands on Amanita Design's infinitely charming adventure title Machinarium. The game will be ported to the console by XGen Studios, whose previous WiiWare titles include the fairly successful port of Defend Your Castle. No release date or pricing information accompanied the port's announcement.
While we worry the game might be truncated in some manner to make it under the WiiWare platform's 50MB cap, we're thrilled to see it spread its delightful influence. We'd like it on every platform possible, please. We don't think we'll be happy until we're playing this bad boy on our R-Zone.

I love this game. I bought it after I played Samorost 2 from the Humble Bundle. Amanita has the best games!

Great game. The artstyle especially just pops right at you when you boot it up.

One of the best indie projects of its year, even going off style alone. And I'm not. The gameplay is quite ingenious and engrossing, the puzzles are unique and intelligent, and overall the game is just a beautiful piece of work. Anything that lets more people get their hands on Machinarium is a good thing.

To fit the game onto the Wii, won't they just have to compress the sprites to a lower resolution (for 480p rather than 1080p), and maybe lower the music's bitrate a bit (which most people won't notice through crappy TV speakers)?
Doesn't seem too bad to me.

This game sure has had an unusual release history. But aside from hearing its name pop up a lot, I actually know almost nothing about it. What is it, exactly?

@gatotsu911 It's a point-and-click adventure game at it's core. You really ought to try it out for yourself. They have a flash-based in-browser demo on their website, and I guarantee it'll hook you.
The story is a cute, inspiring and amazing one, and the puzzles are amazingly well done... you know what? I think I want to play it now...
