@KillTheApex I agree. At least on the competitive multiplayer. Co-op survival mode could be awesome though.

I think it ruins what Dead Space is: a stay-on-your-toes horror game.
When you have a bunch of people, it takes away the feeling of being alone and shitting yourself when something jumps out from a corner.
And plus, the multiplayer looks REALLY slow-paced.

@KillTheApex I don't think it will be bad as long as the main focus of the game is campaign. If the main game loses the polish of the first I'll be very disappointed. The first Dead Space was an incredible and freaky game that was soo moody. Oh wow, I hope they don't mess this one up.

I wish people would give it a chance. It its good, it's good, and if it isn't, it isn't. Saying you aren't going to buy the game just because they tried multiplayer is just ridiculous.

Why Visceral. why? Not every game needs multiplayer. The first game was/is amazing and it's single player only. Just take the time you would spend on the multiplayer and spend it refining the single player.

Even though it's a tacked on multiplayer, at least it'll add a little extra to the game. just hope they're focusing on the single player above all else though. Although it does really look kinda cool....

I'm of the opinion that not all good single-player games need multiplayer. Bioshock 2's multiplayer was fun, but it didn't fit well with the game imo.
However, this looks intersting. Kinda like an objective-based CoD Nazi Zombies. I hope it works out....

This looks really quite cool, I don't see why other commenters are complaining about it. The last franchise that springs to mind that added multiplayer with a sequel was Uncharted, and U2 had ace multi- AND single-player components.

@Pigeonreaper yeah, but they also left out multiplayer trophies, so everyone has a chance to platinum the game..
I don't find online competitive multiplayer that balanced/fair.. obviously a level of skill or experience comes into it, but so does living closer to the servers &/or faster internet connection.. and then there's games that match a clan up agains 4/5 randoms for hollow victories..
