EA launches Madden NFL 11 Week One roster update
29
Possibly more than any other regularly scheduled update for a modern video game, we're positively mystified by the weekly roster changes Madden NFL 11 will undergo. EA Sports just launched the "Week One" update for the title, a patch which encompasses over 500 changes to the game's catalog of footballers, including player additions, releases, trades, statistic changes and injuries. Over 500 changes! That's so, so many changes.
You can check out the full list of player adjustments on Madden's official site. Or, you can just download the update with no knowledge of what it contains, and be constantly surprised by all the new stuff. (Your star wide receiver's now on the injured list! Surprise! Your favorite offensive lineman just retired! Surprise!)

I don't play Madden but this seems awesome if you wanna keep up with what's going on in real life. I'd be most excited about the stats changes. I got pissed in NBA2K10 when I put Steve Blake on the Lakers and saw that he was a 65 overall.

Let me download this to my Madden 10 file for a fee and I'm all over it.

How many people even bother to have a favorite offensive lineman?

Jeff Saturday, son! (does he count as a Center? Hell if I know, but he happens to be the only one I can name AND my favorite)

Bye bye Kolb and HELLO Michael Vick.
As a person he's a *****, but he's still a damn good QB.

Oh and I guess they took Peyton Manning off the rosters, since he got locked in the closet?

He wasn't expected to fill the QB spot for half of a game and Vick threw for 175 yards while Aaron Rodgers threw for 188 during the whole game. On top of that he ran for another 175 yards.
To me, that qualifies as a damn good QB.

Haha calm down both of you. I hope he lasts just cuz he's so exciting.
Just saying one game doesn't make you a damn good QB. He still needs to prove himself. I honestly was surprised at some of the on-the-mark passes he made, but then saw him throw it to the floor when some dude was wide open
Not necessarily rooting for him, but it would be fun to see him "back" to his old, pre-curse self

Given that Madden isn't exactly an obscure title then just perhaps the marketing team needs to do a better job. Y'know, if so many reviewers and media are completely off the mark like you proclaim.

awesome! now if EA fixes the bug they introduced with the last update that prevents me from playing the game at all on my ps3, i might get to try it out!
(...for those who don't know, there is a bug on the ps3 version that will not allow you to play any games in any mode if you are on "my skill" difficulty. after playing a season and a half in franchise mode using "my skill", i installed the patch that came out the same time as the PS3 system earlier this week. 45 minutes of update, and BAM! the game no longer works in the style i always play!)

Any idea when this will be available for the Wii version? As usual, we appear to be an afterthought. BTW, horribly dissapointed with the Wii version this year. Seems they've taken out all franchise ownership functionality, forced use of wii pointer in menus and have only tweeked gameplay since 2000.
