Atlus has announced that Demon's Souls is now part of the PS3 Greatest Hits line with a permanently reduced price of $29.99. (Of course, it's been $30 for a while now if you know where to look.) Man, the dollar-to-frustration ratio is now through the roof!

Could be something like Borderlands as well, vague enough that it could even be that spy RPG...Alpha Protocol? But, nonetheless, I'll definitely watch in case it is Demon's Souls at less than $30. At $20 I would buy it in a heartbeat.

It was $20, and I did buy it! There's 20ish percent claimed after about 10 minutes, so it may not last long.

Also, at $20 it's not eligible for free shipping, so you may want to add something else low cost to get it over $25 (shipping would have been $5.36 for me). I keep a few $5-$8 books in my Amazon wish list for just such padding.

too bad its not the special edition the originally released....I really hate I missed out on that.....but at $30 this is snapped up ASAP!!

Ahh Demon's Souls, so much fun, yet for some reason I can never beat it. I really just need to spend a good couple weeks playing this so I can finally finish it lol.

Hopefully more people will buy the game at this price, meaning more people on the servers, and a Atlus keeping the servers open past March 2011.

This is one of those games I'd like to try, just because others love it so much. I'm just afraid I'll have to buy a new TV to go with it, 'cause I'll be throwing controllers at the screen...

Technically, with this being a price drop, the dollar-to-frustration ratio would decrease. The frustration per dollar ratio on the other hand...

Demons Souls Definitly Deserves Greatest Hits Stature. The Game Is Awesome ( even if Difficult ) Congrats To Atlus And Sony Japan AND From Software For Making A Kick Ass Game and i hope a Demons Souls 2 Comes Soon and i'l Buy it as well.

I love this game. I just recently started playing it again. I am very glad to see it has done so well. Hopefully a sequel comes out at some point.

Well, Atlus didn't develop the game nor were even the first publisher for it. Maybe bug From Software for a sequel? But yeah, I'd love a sequel. :)

Those are important distinctions, thanks! Yes.. However, as _one_ of several publishers, Atlus is certainly in a position to conduct some "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" in From's general direction.

I wouldn't mind a sequel in the sense of Shadow of the Colossus is a sequel to Ico.

I STILL haven't beaten it yet. I'm on world 2 level 2.

Great game indeed

Still one of the best games I've played in recent years. Not many games nowadays can front a decent challenge, but this game had me damn near throwing my controller. Love it. Took me weeks to beat. Up there in personal gaming accomplishments :D

It was either this price cut or From Software and Atlus sends goons to each buyer's house to break our spines. I think we lucked out with Pure White Tendency, guys.

$30? I thought it would be marked down to $10 by now. If I only had a PS3 then I could see myself suffering through the learning curve. But since I don't, I simply just moved on to other games and haven't regretted it since.

I just bought this game on sunday for $40. Oh well that's what I love about buying my games from best buy because of their 30 day price adjustment policy.

*clears throat* ummm... the dollar to frustration ratio has actually decreased, since the numerator (price) has decreased while the frustration has stayed the same. one could say it was previously 60/100 and is now 30/100, which is smaller.

......how is it possible that i have a girlfriend?

The author never claimed the ratio has increased or decreased; just that it's "through the roof." He may have been standing on a roof when he made that claim, so going "through the roof" would, to him, be a downward / negative implication.

.....I too am surprised I'm in a relationship.

Available on Amazon again, dropped from 100% claimed to 61%.
