how is it that a game both confuses me and amazes me at the same time?

Weird. In a good way.

I really applaud the use of an instrument in a non-music based game in the same way that "Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat" used one. The feeling you get when the dudes on screen illicit a rhythm to your game play is like no other.

I really hope this trend catches on.

I like games that don't really fall into a certain genre.

What are some that you can think of because I can't really think of anything.

If you want to try this out, Steam has had the 'demo/beta' of the game out for quite a while now. Playable with 360 guitar even in this state:

The demo on Steam is a prototype build for our IGF nomination last year. We've improved pretty much every aspect of the game since, but it will give you the idea of how reverse combat works. It takes a bit of getting used to, but with a little practice, you'll be effortlessly dodging and un-shooting - at least at our lower difficulties. :)

@24CaretGames

Oh cool, not many devs actually interact with their audience +1.

@MrAlex I do my best! Since we are indie, we don't have a PR firms or a marketing budget, so we find that communicating with our audience is the best way to get feedback about what we are doing as well as let people know about how the game works.

@phobos512 We have 6 difficulties ranging from super easy to crazy hard, so I think you'll be able to enjoy the game regardless of your skill level.

I played this game at PAX and it was awesome! It's definitely one of those games that once you play it for a few minutes you get the hang of it, but you can tell from just the first level that it gets more insane as the levels progress.

Sadly, I do not own a PS3 - here's to hoping for an XBLA release.
