The fourth installation of the series is upon us just after the break -- and you can only find it on Joystiq! Here are parts one, two and three if you need to catch up.
Two Worlds 2 continues Sordahon's Journey

We can't blame you if you immediately glaze over when you see the words "Two Worlds," but if so, you've been missing one of the funniest and most honest advertising campaigns in the the history of video games. We're not sure if the self-effacing "Sordahon's Journey" is going to convince us to buy Two Worlds 2, but it's certainly helping us to forgive SouthPeak for Two Worlds 1.
The fourth installation of the series is upon us just after the break -- and you can only find it on Joystiq! Here are parts one, two and three if you need to catch up.

I really do hope the second game is great. I do love underdog stories.

This stuff is actually amusing.
One wonders whether we are being treated to too much fun spoofs rather than actually being shown the game.
I mean..can they have the spoofs...AND show us parts of the game, talk about the combat, the quests, the multiplayer etc. etc. :-)

There's no real chance the game is going to be as funny as the ads, right?

I watched the first one and thought it was just hackneyed, unfunny, generally Gawdawful crap. Am I missing the joke? I'm serious. Everyone else seems to be reacting to this so positively I'm really wondering if it's just going over my head.
But then again, I've never thought Mega64 was that funny either.

By far the funniest webisode ad I ever saw. I'm gonna even buy a DVD of it if they released. How about collectors edition?

Aside from the frame rate, Two Worlds 1 was awesome, and I've had the sequel pre-ordered for months! The sequel is much better, with no framerate issues, as judged from PAX.

I recently picked up the first one. I'd tried a few times in the past but the GS clerks always bashed it so I put it back. The last time I decided to pick it up after hearing it made some web sites "guilty pleasure" list (don't recall which site) and was thoroughly impressed. I'm about 25 hours in and level 50. Tons of content. There is some frame rate issues and it has hard locked on me occasionally (there is a patch so I don't know if it would have been even worse). But based on my experience the game has been grossly maligned. It's fun and for the sub $10 price was money well spent. Based on my experiences with the first, I will be picking up the sequel.

You know how lazy it is when game writers reviewing Lara Croft whine about how bad the last few games are? It's just as lazy at this point to open by complaining about how bad or boring Two Worlds was. It had a bad port to consoles. The implementation on all platforms was kind of janky. The game itself was really surprisingly good.
