EDF EDF EDF! Definitely picking this one up. I made a thread about the last game on the day of release and it is still going, that's how addictive the game is!

It's probably worth mentioning that this will not be developed by Sandlot, who made EDF 2017. Instead, it's being developed by Vicious Cycle (the people who brought us Matt Hazard.)

Just sayin'.

I'm suddenly very concerned for how good this will be.
I don't know about you, but the reason I loved EDF so much was the sheer number of enemies; fire a rocket into a swarming mass of ants and see their carcasses fly about, ricocheting off skyscrapers - truly glorious.

Looking at the couple of screenshots, there's maybe 12-15 ants on screen in the screenshot. Yeah, it looks a lot prettier, but I bet it only looks so much better because there's so many less enemies.

This theory is compounded by the fact they're doing online co-op. Using standard methods, you wouldn't be able to synchronise hundreds of enemies across an online connection, so reducing the number of enemies means they can have online play as well.

I'm really hoping this turns out to be good though, I loved the first 360 version.

Here's to hoping it brings the same lo-fi experience as 2017 but with more epicness.

Was the 360 version better then the simple 2000 EDF games for the PS2?

This looks really fun.

Fun enough to get me over my primal fear of giant insects? Maybe!

EDF 2017 is one of the BEST couch co-op games EVER. Sure, it had kinda lame graphics, but framerate barely stuttered with tons of insects, giant robots, UFOs and buildings blowing up in your face, even on splitscreen. I really hope this game keeps the splitscreen co-op campaign... it's the game's strongest point.

Graphics in the last one had their low points, but for sheer explosions and destruction and chaos, the game is still unmatched in those regards. Plus I have to say, the beach sunset levels are actually quite pretty.

I don't care who makes it. Sandlot isn't exactly big time... The game's basic concept is simple. If they keep the enemy numbers, huge scale and awesome weapons it'll work. Hopefully they can figure it out.
