meh, doesn't really do it for me. Dead Space 2 might be interesting, really liked the first one but i am afraid they are not gonna be able to maintain that level and are just looking to cash in now. The main reason for me buying a game is wheter it has a great story or not, most of those games aren't really story centric and some don't even have one.

Story isn't the only things games have going for them.

Portal has awesome gameplay and with the sequel they are adding in a story.

Castlevania has always had both (though the story isn't always at the front) and discovery of new areas a la Metroid, hence the Metroidvania moniker games like Shadow Complex have inherited.

The Team Ico Collection may be lighter on telling you a story as opposed to a MGS game, but the difference is you play it rather than have it shown to you, much like most of Valves games as well.

I will agree that GT5 doesn't have a story, but it's not supposed to, it's a simulation racing game. Black Ops main draw might not be its single player mode either, so I won't count that against you.

You are free to choose from any number of titles, but to say that the gaming industry is in a drought is ignorant. You just need to open your eyes or broaden your scope and you might find something you didn't expect.

Portal is definitely on my list and i already played the ico and collosi games. I guess drought is a bit of an exaggeration when looking at gaming in general but i do get the feeling that story centric games don't come around as often as they used to. I am fine with it though, saves me some money. ^^

I have one question? Why? If you don't like Square then you really must hate every other publisher with a passion. Square consistently makes good games, they don't say ridiculous stuff like Activision and Bobby Kotic, and they don't even have one of those profit management programs like EA and THQ.

If Deus Ex is the girl you want to get with then Square is nothing more than her very drunk, slightly less attractive friend. EA and Activision are the cantankerous whores on the other side of the room.

I personally could never hate the people that helped bring me some of my favorite games of all time, most certainly not the way you do. And certainly not if they are bringing me a game that the majority of the gaming community has been clamoring to get their hands on for years.
