New Shaun White Skateboarding trailer 'challenges' the status quo
16
The challenges on display in this aptly titled "Challenges" trailer for Ubisoft's soon-to-be-released Shaun White Skateboarding start off pretty, well ... ordinary. Stringing tricks together for high scores isn't exactly new to the genre, but -- what's this? A long-grind balancing challenge where you control the direction of the ever-expanding rail? That's pretty different. And so are the corporate goons chasing you in that helicopter!

I thought this game was supposed to be revolutionary... This looks like more Tony Hawk.

I even liked the Disney one.
Also, I'd love another aggressive inline.

This has nothing on Skate 3.

I'm confused. What's with the magic floating grind rail? Just looks like an even more arcadey Tony Hawk or am I missing something?

The gameplay looks floaty, if I may....
like a snowboarding game.
And the magic grinding rail.... WTF ?!?!

I hope this game isn't too carebear.
When he lands the jump right after the 'Escape from the Ministry!' text appears, he lands like 40 degrees off; something the player should have absolutely bit pavement for.
I hope it's just set to easy most in the options.
The animations look like they could use some work, as well, but that could all change by the time this is released.

This looks better than I expected. Skate is already getting old, they've done practically nothing to evolve the game since the first installment. Doubt I will ever buy this, but it looks okay and may not be the total failure I expected.

Skate, as much as I love hasn't really evolved and Tony, well god bless him for THPS 1-3 but I can't see Shaun White bringing arcade skating back with this game. Might be fun for younger or casual fans.

I would much rather just have a Tony Hawk 1-3 HD redo.
