Watch your back, puppies: Kevin Butler talks up EyePet
38
Sony faux-spokesman Kevin Butler's no stranger to talking smack about competitors -- though, for the life of us, we never expected him to turn his scornful eye upon infant dogs. Check out the US commercial for EyePet after the jump as we await a rebuttal from the dog people of the world.

I actually preferred this one to others. He seems more relaxed and calm... and I like that. I hate the overdone ones where he's being cocky and all sorts...

I was excited to see a line line of games for the move towards the end of the video.
I rewatched it and paused it to see if there was any games I was not aware of, then I saw it was the same five games over and over.
Then I was sad.

I might get this once the price goes down. I think it's something my 2 year old brother might actually be able to play. He's always there when im playing ps3 or wii, saying that he wants to play. He even says "mario galaaaxy" and does the yell mario does when he jumps. Pretty cute =]

The best part of having a pet is dressing them up and teaching them tricks? What about coming home every day to someone who unconditionally loves you and wants to be with you, someone who has soft fur and licks your face...
Eyepet can never be that.
Eyepet can never be that.

@Esposch Yeah but it also can't be a snobby cat that ignores you and then pisses and vomits all over the house.

What is with this campaign and labradoodles?

No, but just because a game doesn't piss on your carpet and ignore you, it doesn't necessarily make it worth the money either.

Who shit in your cereal this morning?
It's a kid-friendly game about a virtual pet. Who cares if some 20+ year old doesn't see the point, as long as kids love it then it's served it's purpose. It's like tamagotchi

Consider a tool to save pets from unworthy families. A kid will want a pet until they realize what a hassle they can be. Then, the parents take care of the pet out of duty, but not always love since some just bought it for the kids.
So you end up with a pet that was thought of as a toy for a kid that doesn't love it and now its caretakers just feed it and give it just enough affection for it live.
This happens more often than people care to admit.

I like animals and all, but actually I would say that virtual pets tend to amaze me more then real animals. Kind of like how robots are more amazing than people. When I see a person or a dog walking down the street, my jaw doesn't drop and make me go "OMG WOW! A human being! A dog!"
But a really well done virtual pet game? That will amaze me. For at least 10 minutes. Sad to say, but I think we take mammals for granted.

They're crazy. Just go to youtube, click any dog video where the dog isn't being pampered, and look at the comments.

I hope we can get some cool games on the ps move somthing like mario galaxy, donkey kong country style of game.
I hope were not going to be stuck with a few party games for over a year. and if so i hope they got a a catalouge of old games that are going be supported so my move gets some use.
i really cant see me playing start the party , res evil 5 and sport champion for over a year without getting tired fo it.
i mean would it be so hard for sony to give the devs a head start with this thing when they annouce its going to be relased so we don't have to wait longer for releases.
Im hoping there is going to be more software relased before xmas other than what were already know about. i dont want it collecting dust :-(

I still don't know what that thing is. It's like a dog, monkey, and cat combo.
Well, whatever it is it can wear disguises, draw up plans, and fly it's own plane! If they ever decided to turn against us, we would be in trouble!
SO CUTE... CAN'T... KILL IT...

But nothing would make me buy EyePet or think that THING is cute. Seriously, it creeps me the hell out. It just doesn't look right.
