PlayStation Move controller exploded, examined

The latest victim of techno-savvy website IFixIt's particularly brutal brand of evisceration is none other than Sony's new magic wand, the PlayStation Move. The site performed a teardown on the new controller, examining how easily it could be repaired should one of your friends decide to throw it, full force, at the razor-sharp corner of your living room coffee table. (Don't they know that motion controller-related accidents are so 2006?)

You can check out all of the controller's inside-parts over in IFixIt's teardown -- unfortunately, though, they didn't crack open the orb which tops the device. We think it has something to do with them not wanting to injure the magical, polychromatic fairy which lives inside of said orb.

Lovin' this thing so far. And after playing the demo, I must say, Tumble is fantastic.
And yea, I really want to know what's in the bulb. You can't see individual lights, so I'd like to know what makes this thing's glow distribution so equal. It's almost surreal.

@HTCEVO Upvoted because I ****ing love tumble too. My GF and I are addicted, and the accuracy really is amazing. My favorite game for the Move so far, I've played it more than Sports Champions.

I am also "lovin' this thing so far". I like how when you win a Sports Champions cup it takes a victory photo of you and uploads it to facebook.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed playing the Tumble demo too. It will definitely be the next game I buy off the PSN.

When I was scrolling down I thought that this was going to end up being a story about the former ping-pong ball exploding in someone's hands and I got scared for my life.

Thankfully not, though. Gee, wouldn't that be funny if when I get the Move it blew up in my face out of spite.

@Tre its really soft rubber, its the same stuff used for baby pacifiers.. So you could probably sit there and suck on it if you wanted to..

NO! Don't tell me how they get that wonderful, little ball to light up. I don't want to know. I still don't know how they get the caramel in the Caramilk bars and I want to keep it that way, thank you very much!

I want a Move but can't have one thanks to Sony's release schedule of upcoming games! :(

The Move is absolutely fantastic. It has far surpassed my expectations.

Oh, Gladiator Duel and Tumble FTW

Not to thrilled about gladiator duel seems too Wii like. Tumble on the othe hand is deep for a motion game. Frisbee and bocce are winners along with archery also.

Yes! I luv the disc golf but couldn't figure out the curve around the giant red pillar tutorial.

They got some fairies trap in the orb? Holy f*ck! Quick somebody save them.

Your not taking my fairy! I love how the orb turns red when targeting in ruse. My gf already attempted pulling off the orb... Yeah that's what I'm dealing with. Lol
