Fan site Seriously! supposedly got the scoop from Devolver Digital, publisher of HD remakes Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter and Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, about Serious Sam HD: Gold Edition -- a bundle which includes both remakes, as well as both original games. That can't be good for the original games' self-esteem, being bundled with sleeker, more attractive-looking versions. Have you no heart, Devolver Digital?
According to Seriously!, Steam users will be able to download Gold Edition on Thursday for $39.99s. We've followed up with Devolver Digital for confirmation and will let you know what we hear back.

You know what would be cool. Is if GoG merged with Steam and they used the original titles and the new titles to marry the union.

My thoughts exactly, I'd rather have the two new games for ten bucks cheaper. Maybe then I'd consider it.

It would also be nice if the original versions could be bought separately since the GOG versions can't be bought anymore.

As much as I love Serious Sam, $40 is just too much for me. When Steam had that free weekend, I played a few hours of coop with a friend, and that was enough to quench my thirst for serious sam. It's not really the type of game that I can keep coming for more.

$40? I rather pay $20 just for the first encounter HD, just like the original SS first encounter, $20. 2nd encounter is not that great compared to the 1st one.
