UK Xbox sales double in wake of Halo: Reach
56
According to GfK Chart-Track, Halo: Reach delivered a Spartan-sized punch in the arm to Xbox 360 console sales. GfK director Dorian Bloch told Eurogamer that Halo: Reach drove a 99 percent increase in console sales during its launch week, which ended September 18. Eurogamer reports that sales of the limited edition Halo: Reach console, sold through retailer Game in the UK, played a significant role in the overall boost.
Oh, and in case you hadn't heard, the game is selling pretty well too.

The idea is that it is a device you would find in the Halo universe. Something from the UNSC. So it's not a DVD tray, it's a "media reader". It's not really a case of them treating the owners like idiots, it's just part of the decoration. Seems fine to me.

PS3 is more of an Entertainment console. While 360 has some entertainment features such as Netflix & downloadable movies & songs, that's not it's main emphsis. Sony touts that "it only does everything". But TRUE gamers don't NEED everything, they just want a good gaming experience.

That PS3 list is way short. Your missing a bunch that are truly exclusive Like the Last Guardian, Yakuza 3, Trinity Universe, Trinitiy: Souls of Zill O'll, Mod Nation Racers, White Knight Chronicles, The last Rebellion, Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland and some I'm probably forgetting and those that can be imported.
As for your 360 list the only real exclusives at least for the moment are;
1. Alan Wake
2.Splinter Cell
3.Crack Down 2
4.Halo Reach
5. Gears 2
All others are playable on at least 1 other platform and the list above may have a title or two go to another platform at a later date.
MS hardly has any exclusives. This year they have 4 which is a lot for them actually but out of all the platforms as usual they have the least. It's like this year in and year out.

@Prboi , just the fact that you have to resort to a date range and the fact that 2 of the 360 "exclusive" games you mention are not even exclusives given your date range, basically shows that your argument is a bit Weak..
Dont forget these ps3 exclusives which should also fit within your time frame:
Heavy Rain
Yakuza 4
mlb 10
Free Realms
DC Universe Online
The Agency
White Knight Chronicles
3D Dot Game Hero
Sports Champions (its a good game got 4.5 /5 from Joystiq)
(this is excluding the stuff mentioned by BitRate, such as mod nation racers, yakuza3 etc ..) When is inFamous 2 being released ? That is going to kick some major ass as well

@Prboi if your going to include kinect games then you should include move games..
Just to summarize this pissing contest:
The PS3 is the better entertainment device (by your own admission) , with more exclusive games (proven by yourself and further demonstrated by us), with better graphics (gow3, Kz2, Kz3, U2 and GT5 are all proof of this), with a free network that allows free online play and a motion control system recently released that actually works and is very precise (as per the joystiq review) .. Yet its not the better games platform ? Why ?
Answers on a postcard..

It's one sweet looking machine. Makes me wish I didn't jump on the 360S so quick. A few more weeks and I would have known about this one. There was no rush, I already had a 120gb original Jasper!
And Halo:Reach is amazing too. I'm not a huge Halo fan (I prefer the Mass Effect universe and Unreal engine over the Havok engine) but I have to admit that I'm enjoying Reach A LOT.
So not surprised at the figures on this at all.

Yes, I know Havok and Unreal are just physics engines but they do add to the "feel" of the game. As proud as I am that Havok are Irish, I just feel the engine lacks fluidity compared to Unreal. I just prefer games made with Unreal such as Mass Effect, GOW, R6:Vegas 2 and Monday Night Combat even. Havok is a close second though.
So, no, it's not graphical but it is noticeable.

Saying the Xbox 360 is just FPS' is like saying the PS3 has no games.
If the PS3 wouldn't have copied the Xbox's success into console gaming by developing a stable of shooters it would have been long forgotten in North America by now. FPS (aka shooters) are relevant for both systems now son.

That's the point. Although ODST felt like a big let down to fans, they can't deny that the story telling was really good. That's what Bungie wanted to recreate in a sense. a story of a squad instead of a one man army. It gives the character more depth when you're vulnerable to your enemy instead of the other way around where your a monster who can kill everything in it's path, though fun, you can stick to the same things over & over again because it just get repetitive.

i can understand the squad based aspect,
--Spoiler???--
but the lack of the Flood and Forerunner, which set the Halo story apart from other fps. The plot just didn't have that "epic" feel that 1,2 & 3 had.

Alright seriously?? Everyone in Europe has held out this long to get an Xbox 360?? They had absolutely no interest in Halo 3 or Halo ODST, yet for some bizarre reason, they bought an Xbox 360 just for Reach? Wow! Those are what I call avid Halo fans! They love it so much! They wait all the way until Halo Reach for an Xbox 360. "Yeah. I played Halo and Halo 2, but I didn't want an Xbox for Halo 3 or ODST." This makes absolutely no sense, unless Microsoft had a secret button hidden away in a bunker that said, do not touch until the week of Halo 3, and when it was pushed, all these Xbox 360 consoles started to fry.
Seriously, how is this possible? Doesn't the entire world have an Xbox 360 by now? Microsoft planned out this console generation really well. It was a ploy to sell a mass number of 360's. Nintendo knew how to cater to the younger crowd and pleased casual gamers with its style and marketing campaign and sell a mass amount of consoles, Microsoft found a way to fish bait and hook gamers and then leave them having to buy 360 after 360 and like mindless zombies, the world was content with crappy hardware and being cheated out of their money and then there's Sony. For the FIRST time in their gaming career in the market, they're in dead last after being first for so many years. How did it happen? Lazy developers. The PS3 would have been more successful, if developers would've welcomed a challenge as a valuable learning process to go above and beyond and become skilled, but it wasn't good enough for them. If the job wasn't easy, it wasn't worth it. It was worth more effort to cry.

@neoXmahi I think I might need a translator for this particular stream of consciousness... Your reasoning for why the 360 and PS3 have gone the ways they have doesn't make any god damned sense. If someone has bought more than one 360 it's either because they have too much money and didn't want to wait to get a brand new (free) one in the mail after one broke, or they're upgrading. Or maybe even want multiple ones if they want to play in different rooms of their home without hassle(again because they have too much money). PS3 doesn't do as well as 360 because when it came out it cost 600 dollars and people gave up on it and went to either the 360 or Wii. When they came out with the slim for $300 they began to catch up a bit. It had nothing to do with developers being lazy. Maybe some devs just prefer the Wii or 360 over the PS3, or they got a better exclusivity deal with someone else. Crazy, right?!

The reason why devs weren't so advid about pushing on the PS3 was because Sony doesn't own them. The 360 is easier to develope for so it's more likely that they use the 360 more often than the PS3 because Sony doesn't offer them enough money to go above & beyond so they can come out on top. & the reason the 360 even had hardware failure was because MS wanted to get the jump on Sony & take advantage of a years worth of sales & games to finally be in HD. They developed their own fan instead of investing in a more reliable fan. They risked losing the console wars to be ahead of Sony & make a name for themselves in hardware instead of being the new guy in the party. It was a risk well taken in my opinion. I admit that the fans were a bit screwed but I think they gained loyalty for the fans who really appreciate the 360 for what it's worth.

First off the cell processor is old, outdated and just plain week compared to a lot of PC processor's out there. Another thing is that some developers have used the PS3 as the lead console sometimes, but most don't because it's unpractical compared to the 360 which graphically isn't far behind.
