Xbox Live subscribers can vote for upcoming Deal of the Week

Microsoft has put an interesting turn on its weekly rotation of discounted items on Xbox Live -- the Spotlight tab on the console's dashboard currently includes a poll which will let users choose which of a handful of items they'd like to have marked down for an undisclosed week in October. These discounts include 33 percent off DeathSpank, half off Perfect Dark, or similar markdowns on DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, Trials HD and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

It would be unethical for us to use our considerable internet power to get you to pick the thing that we'd like to pick up at a discounted price, so we'll refrain from doing so. Instead, we'll just have to rely on the same remote mind-control tactics we've been using to puppeteer your every action for the past four years now. That's right, Brandon, we're inside your mind.

Yeah I voted for onslaught too then immediately after I started thinking with Reach and Fallout Vegas my BC2 may collect a little dust this winter. Now I hear what trickybuz93 said and.... and ......

I'm leaning towards DeathSpank off at 33%. That, or Perfect Dark off at 50%. But to be honest... why can't they just have all of these discounted?

Discounting this crap means making a little money where at one point there wasn't any when asking for more money.

I believe their reasoning behind one deal at a time is purely marketing. People are more likely to buy the item on sale if it's the only one on sale at the time. If 5 items are on sale, all of their sales would boost, but not as much as if they were the sale's spotlight.

This also gives the community something to give input about. I think this voting system is a great way to get people to pay more attention to the "Deal of the Week". I hope they keep giving us players choices like these.

I voted for Deathspank, but right now BC2 is winning (which is okay, because BC2 is a lot of fun, too...although I really don't care about Onslaught).

I might actually get Trials HD if it dropped in price. And yes, I know I'm that one human who hasn't bought it. *sigh*

Holy shit I hope Perfect Dark wins! I couldn't rationalize paying 10 bucks for it - but half that is ok by me. Besides, what the heck is a Deathspank? and Who needs DLC? :)

I vote anything buy Perfect Dark. My live just ran out on the 19th and I'm currently between jobs with literally no money to spare. I'd rather them offer PD in a month or so, that way I can actually afford it.

I would have to say Death Spank.. since I already have all of the Dragon Age DLC.. as long as I can turn the voice acting off.. and don't care for the other games on the list in the slightest

if you can get a halfway decent game for half off, you can almost bet every time people will vote for that. that said, perfect dark for 400 points would be awesome.
