Dead Space 2 multiplayer beta invites going out to PS3 fans

Check your inboxes! Select Dead Space 2 fans have been "hand selected" for a closed multiplayer beta. Scott Probst, Multiplayer Producer, explains in the invite e-mail: "We have just launched a small beta which will help us polish the game, and we have selected you to help us achieve that goal! We are still several months away from the game's release, and there is still plenty of work to be done prior to shipping the game." In addition to a PSN voucher, the invite e-mail includes a link to a forum for participants to offer feedback.

Unfortunately, the e-mail doesn't detail how participants were selected. The invites appear to be targeted to members of EA's online community, with no regards to PlayStation Plus. We'll update this post if EA can offer us any more details.

I think it's completely random, even though the e-mail invite says something about 'dedicated fans'.

People who've never played Dead Space are getting them, and those who would actually be classified as 'dedicated fans' are being passed by.

I'd be inclined to agree seeing as I was a Dead Space fan to the point that I brainchilded and ran an entire advertising campaign for the original, and I haven't gotten anything. Well I hope I do get something still.

yea it random I barely played the 1st one, but I am signed up to the Dead Space 2's newsletter and have an EA.com profile and an EA Gun Club account. So those probably factored in.

It's definitely random.... I mean, I have a copy of the game registered on their site for the 360 and I got a code. I have a 360. Not a PS3. Nice of them to "hand pick" a person that doesn't even have the system. XD

Before anyone asks: I've already given my code away to a friend.

I should mention I got in the beta don't think I made that clear in previous comment.

I got the invite. Maybe it goes for those who play a lot of EA's betas or buys a lot of EA games. I played Bad Company 2 beta and Medal of Honor beta.

I think so, i played those, registered tons of games in their site and played their Browser games (LoU, FIFA, TW: Online and NFS)

Only thing I can think of is that I registered my copy of Dead Space and subscribed to the DS2 newsletter.

I broke my leg a while ago, and haven't had a chance to go outside in a while. I was going to get a job, hopefully, but my leg is broken so I couldn't go to the interview. I've got nothing to do for the next month or so. I'd like a code. :(

Got an invite. I don't sub to the PSN pay service.
I did enter the dismemberment contest on Facebook though, they even emailed me one of those ARG packages.
I don't seem to have access to the beta forums yet, I want to talk about this so bad >.

So I played the first Dead Space on 360, beat it, traded it in, and never played it again. Yet I still got an invite!

Will there ever be regards to PS+? and dont cound ACB cause thats only a select few ps+ users, and last time i check only 1 out of the 20+ps+ users on my FL have it.

Im still praying for PS+ users to get KZ3 beta, thats all i want for christmas

It may just be random, I don't have Playstation+, I don't have Dead Space for PS3, and I don't even own a Playstation 3 but I got an invite. I don't remember ever telling them I had a PS3, I just remember making an account before E3 to watch a trailer. I do own Dead Space for Xbox 360, but I can't imagine that has anything to do with any of this...

I'm gonna be honest. I've platinumed the first one. Preordered the second. Played to the fullest extent Extraction on my Wii. Downloaded all of the comics. And I may or may not have an EA account floating out somewhere in the interwebs. What about me isn't a dedicated?
