This move could really save the PSP and Sony Ericsson

@BlackedOut

I agree. I never play portables as I never have it on me. My PSP collects dust and my Android is played all the time.

Combine the two, and I'd be in heaven!

This may be the only thing that could pull me away from my IPhone. Depending on how much it can do.......

Yeah if they can turn out a phone that has the app flexibility of an iPhone and the gaming power of a PSP/2. I actually think Apple might be in trouble.

Tho Apple does have one nice head start.

To be honest, I think Apple's going to take a hit in sales regardless once the Windows Phone 7 devices start hitting the market this fall/winter.

The interface is ridiculously awesome.

Apples already taking heavy fire from Android. They have been outsold by it pretty much all year.

This probably has to do with the PSP Phone but it could also have to do with development of mobile (e.g. Android) ports of Sony games.

Well, that just makes it obvious.
We know it's coming.

I'm more interested in the "cloud hosting" part- will we be uploading our save files or other files...? Or is it just some usual PSN reference?

And the winning combo here is to start with a game platform....

Add to that the functions of a phone. Far too many gaming phones have failed because they were phones first and a gaming platform second.

..... This is where you can probably get away without physical media .... as long as you back it up with a steady supply & selection of quality games.

Hell I recall saying back before the Go launched that all it really needed to not completely suck was to have integrated phone features.

Well said. I totally agree. My GO would be played if I had a reason to bring it with me every day.

well, the n-gage tried this before and we know how that turned out... o.0

it needs to be a slick PHONE, and a decent portable game with enough battery life and BUTTONS! touch screens as the main input device suck, sorry iPhone people, but the DS approach is the best, with *additional* touch screen functions to the games.

No Sony ¬_¬ Not until you sort out this battery issue, the last thing I want is my phone dying far too quickly because I was playing PSP games on it, next thing I can't get an emergency call because my phone died within an hour or something stupid.

If you can't sort that out, I'll stick to my blackberry and PSP 3000, happily keeping them separate.
