Back in August, our sister site Engadget reported on a forthcoming Sony Ericsson phone with PlayStation branding -- a phone that would employ Android OS 3.0. Sony still hasn't made a peep officially but has, in the meantime, posted a job listing for a senior server engineer in London with "experience in mobile development." The company noted, "specifically Android is a plus."
Since Engadget first pointed out the job listing, the "specifically Android is a plus" part has been removed (the unaltered image can be seen above). Whether that makes the long-rumored Ericsson / PlayStation partnership any more realistic is hard to say. We'll believe it when we see it.

This may be the only thing that could pull me away from my IPhone. Depending on how much it can do.......

Apples already taking heavy fire from Android. They have been outsold by it pretty much all year.

This probably has to do with the PSP Phone but it could also have to do with development of mobile (e.g. Android) ports of Sony games.

Well, that just makes it obvious.
We know it's coming.
I'm more interested in the "cloud hosting" part- will we be uploading our save files or other files...? Or is it just some usual PSN reference?

And the winning combo here is to start with a game platform....
Add to that the functions of a phone. Far too many gaming phones have failed because they were phones first and a gaming platform second.
..... This is where you can probably get away without physical media .... as long as you back it up with a steady supply & selection of quality games.
Hell I recall saying back before the Go launched that all it really needed to not completely suck was to have integrated phone features.

well, the n-gage tried this before and we know how that turned out... o.0
it needs to be a slick PHONE, and a decent portable game with enough battery life and BUTTONS! touch screens as the main input device suck, sorry iPhone people, but the DS approach is the best, with *additional* touch screen functions to the games.

No Sony ¬_¬ Not until you sort out this battery issue, the last thing I want is my phone dying far too quickly because I was playing PSP games on it, next thing I can't get an emergency call because my phone died within an hour or something stupid.
If you can't sort that out, I'll stick to my blackberry and PSP 3000, happily keeping them separate.
