Explodemon gets new debut trailer
19
Here it is, the second "debut" trailer for Explodemon. Wait, what? Curve Studios explains that the original video "was a pre-vis ... to try and get publishers interested," adding "it's changed a lot since then." It certainly has, experiencing a few delays and shrinking down to one platform (PS3) along the way. Pay close attention to the video to see the combo system in action, and its Bangai-O inspiration in effect.

Wow, that looks awesome. Shame they dropped the 360 version.

So, is Twisted Pixel allowed to sue over this?

For everyone wondering, Splosion Man != Explodemon. Explodemon was announced April 1, 2009, and it looked like a joke based on Megaman.
Splosion Man wasn't first announced until May 5th, 2009, but Explodemon was really quiet after that first announce, so was probably forgotten.
That and the names/concepts are very similar.

Berzerk is correct, although 'Splosion Man was announced about 7 HOURS after our original trailer got discovered on April 1st 09. >_<
Before that, the game was started by me, on my lunch breaks, in Nov 2005 as a 2D sprite game. It's been a long road to a self-published release!
Anyway, the story of the game has been so rocky that I started a blog to cover it all. If you want to see just how hard it can be to get a game out there, check out http://www.onebitbeyond.com.
Cheers, Bidds.

This is actually a phenomena I'm noticing more and more nowadays - People seem to be coming up with the same ideas around the same time, and develop those ideas into similar-yet-stylistically-different final products.
Take for example the summer of 1998 when the major movies that were out were Deep Impact and Armageddon. Both ideas stem from the same core concept - Life on Earth threatened by an asteroid - but ultimately how they opted to address that concept was distinctively different. Neither one of them "copied" the other, their timing was just incredibly coincidental.
At any rate, congratulations on taking your game from concept to reality! Thats a truly daunting amount of work. I cant wait to play it!

Is that "ekkusuburoodemon" in Japanese/Katakana? Kinda looks like a tenten instead of a maru on the 'fu'.
