Yeah, looking forward to some minecraft talk - just started exploring last night; digging it (no pun) but still wondering where these monsters are? Or is that only in multiplayer?

Thanks for the reply. I guess hearing about a deceptively mundane albeit innovative and pixelated game driven by the mystery of what can happen next is far better than hearing Chris talk about his woodwork.

i tried to get minecraft but it didnt work too well for me on mac. it said i had to go online to go offline. i had to download the "original" version? I needed to pay to go online. where can i play it at?!?!?!?!?

Can we make this a real podcast and not a sub-cast? Have this one be Wednesday. Then Joystiq is Monday and X3F is Friday.

In defence of Shinji Mikami, I think he might have meant like if you took all the toppings out of a Pizza, what are you left with? A regular pie! He would have been left with some sort of 3d game! Sure maybe his delivery went flat, he probably didn't feel too interested in it though, sitting on nails as it were, the game has been in development for since 2007.

That is actually a lame question, what if, what if, what if Micheal Jordan was a game developer, what if Apple only made windows PCs, what if you liked Coffee instead of Tea, see how lame that line of thinking can lead to? GIGO dude (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garbage_In,_Garbage_Out).

I don't really like all the 'Japanese are like this' and 'Japanese are like that' comments. It sounds kind of racist, and comes up too often.

I don't think it's really a race thing, more as it's a culture thing. It's like saying all Americans enjoy Call of Duty. Yes, it is stereotyping, but it's not racist.

Really? To me that would be like saying all black people like chicken, but saying it's not racist, because it's a culture thing.

I just don't get where Ludwig gets off saying things like the Japanese public is less inclined to buy new stuff, by mentioning Pokemon as an example. That game sells millions worlwide, not just in Japan. And then at the same time well he complains about that kind of stuff, he has no problem enjoying the 5th iteration in the Phoenix Wright or Halo or any other series.

Just because he may not be a fan of the games like Monster Hunter or Pokemon doesn't mean there is something wrong with the Japanese public.

I agree that some of their comments are a little off-base and biased. But what I am saying is that he was talking about the culture of Japan influencing their purchases. I don't think that's the same thing as stereotyping the race, rather than stereotyping their culture. Sure they go hand in hand, but that's because Japan is filled with... Well, Japanese.

I want Just Riffin' every week. How about Tuesday? No one podcasts on Tuesday.

Late to this, but I really liked this podcast. I enjoyed the discussions much more than the usual Chris going to get the mail for two minutes, or his mic connection frizzing out.

Also, the songs are much more improved. XTC!!
