@WiseSoul22 Or maybe it's because people actually care about steam.

"This deal is unfortunately exclusive to PC Steam gamers, as the titles have yet to receive the Mac treatment. And that's seriously a shame, isn't it?"

Nah I use boot camp!

Just because the whole joystiq staff are a bunch of rootin' tootin' mac-using console gamers doesn't mean the rest of the world is!

No insult intended, it's just I don't really see the demand for big budget titles on Mac. Especially as you've gotta shell out thousands to get a Mac that will play them with equal or better graphics to a 360.

To each their own. I don't think there's anything wrong with someone wanting to be able to play games with a Mac, just like I don't think there's anything wrong with someone who prefers PS3 to 360. Just live and let live.

If only it was up to him! You see, as a Mac hater it's his job to point and laugh at anyone using Apple computers/devices.

You never see Mac users coming into Windows related post saying "AH MAN WHY WOULD YOU USE WINDOES DERP!". There is seriously NO reason to keep bringing this up. Some people use Windows and some people use OSX, deal with it already.

@NaeemTHM Actually, they do it a LOT on tech blogs and all. Which is where I think the hatred for them comes from.

I own both. I want games to be released on Mac since my laptop is a Mac and I would, therefore, be able to play more of my games portably than I currently can. Simple as that.

I COULD get into a debate about the pricing vs. value of buying a Mac, but this is a gaming site and it's just not worth it. ;)

@Skorpeyon Yeah It got to the point on engadget on gizmodo that I just stopped reading the comments they were so annoying. Regardless I haven't seen it on Joystiq so we should work to keep a happier, more platform neutral place. Filled with brotherly love and PAX orgies.

I suppose there is a point that it would make a lot more sense if these games were just universal so that you could use them on whatever technology you chose to invest in. My argument before was for segregation of platforms purely based on 'it doesn't need to come out' for one, which is a bit dumb.

It's always "unfortunate" until its exclusive on the system you like, right?

If you are certain that Serious Sam is GOING to be given the Mac treatment, buy it now while it's on this insane sale. You'll get access to it as soon as the Mac version comes out. Steam doesn't differentiate between "Mac" or "Windows" versions of games, they consider one purchase of the game to give you access wherever Steam is installed, and that includes on another OS.

I haven't heard anything about a Mac version of this game, I'm just going by your article saying "This deal is unfortunately exclusive to PC Steam gamers, as the titles have yet to receive the Mac treatment." which makes it sound to me like it's been announced or something. If not, then it might be better to not spend the money.

I didn't have to buy Portal over aga- well, I guess technically no one who had a Mac when Steam came out for it had to buy Portal, but still, I didn't have to re-buy any of the Valve games that've been ported thus far that I already owned on my PC. I just installed them on my Mac, too.

Ahhh, well, in that case... that sucks. I'm certain that if there are any games looking to sell a separate copy per O/S on there I'll avoid them. I'm not a huge fan of being penalized because I happen to have different O/S's on my computers. Hell, Blizzard figured out that Mac gamers exist over a decade ago, and made sure that their games were cross-compatible and sold both copies on one disc. Wish more companies would follow their example.
