Kane and Lynch film needs a new director
20
Following the inexplicable trend of movies based on video games getting totally derailed before they even start filming, it seems the once-certain production of Kane and Lynch has become ... decidedly less so. LA Times reports that planned director Patrick Alessandrin (District 13: Ultimatum) is no longer behind the reins of the movie. As a result, the movie's shooting schedule, planned to start next month, has been delayed.
A representative from Millennium Films confirmed that "the director has not been chosen" and that the film's "start date is TBD." If you're part of the ever-burgeoning community of high-profile film directors who read this site (what up, Spiels?), consider this your invitation to step in and save the day. That is, if you think you can handle the raw thespianic force of a Willis/Foxx collaboration.

Just cancel it and call it a day. I don't want to see a movie based on a mediocre game... Hell, I don't want to see a movie based on an awesome game!

Man, I get the feeling that this movie is going to be totally amazing.
Anyone else think so?

To put it into terms,
In order for this movie to be okay, it would need Jesus to direct it.

I'd do a cross between Michael Mann, Paul Greengrass, and Neil Blomkamp styles.

Uwe Boll. There I said it!
Might as well let the two dig each others' grave.

I haven't played either game yet.
Judging by director track records, that means I'm perfect for it!

A new license couldn't hurt the movie's chances either...

The only positive thing is that they can't make a worse story then the game already has.

If done right, this has the potential to be very good movie, even if all it does is rip off Michael Mann.
First step: Recast Jamie Foxx's role. That and the constant lack of director makes this project sound doomed to failure.

Good because the terrible miscasting of Jamie Foxx was hampering the movie from the word go. Now lets get a competent director and remind Bruce Willis this isn't a comedy..
