only if they alter the game to do that... if it's straight up like all VC games, then we're SOL...

Despite what some people think about the series being the exact same, so many changes to game mechanics have happened where that would be absolutely impossible without them reworking everything in the old games

Theres a reason they didn't allow people to transfer from GBC to GBA, the pokemon data has changed too much.

If their online platform is the same as it is now, I will not be buying anything regardless of the temptation. No recoverable downloads can kiss my ass. Especially when they keep records of your purchases on your Club Nintendo account.. AND IT STILL has no way to recover purchases.

While this is not surprising, it is to me the most exciting announcement about the 3DS, way more so than the improved graphics with 3D and the new control options. I hope the support for it doesn't dwindle to rarity like the Wii Virtual Console though.

O - M - G. Wow. That's...news. BIG news. Wow. The more and more I/we wait on the 3DS, the better and better it gets. No disrespect to the PSP2 (cuz there's always room for more than one handheld) but the 3DS is definitely shaping up to be a MONSTER when(ever) it drops. I've always been a Nintendo handheld kinda person: I was already sold, I'm even more sold if that's possible or makes sense XD

Exactly what I was thinking. Spend $300 on a new system just so you can re-buy your old games. Sounds awesome.

When the 3DS gets inevitably hacked, people will just run these old games on emulators on their pirate cards.

Even though the games I have left to get on each system can be counted on my hands, I am still very, very excited for this. There are so many good games that are overlooked and the kids today just have never had a chance to experience.

Here's hoping for some Oracle of Ages/Seasons!

The only thing I'd love to see more than these two games, is an hd remake (the most underrated games in the whole series).

...and hello Golden Sun!

Well, there's my answer.

Oho...I know that! I was just imagining on the perspective of competitive play, because some Pokes have moves they can't get in the following gens. Hmm...I'd have to look back at them!

But yeah, if it's straight up port, I'll more than likely pass. I needs my Link's Awakening DX more!!!!!!

Will...Will the GB/GBA Utilize the 3D functions?

Cause Lord knows I want to play. Gunstar Super heroes, Street fighter Alpha, Mario Kart Advance, Sonic Advance, and Castlevaina in 3D.

And Just for Kicks Wario land series, because I would like to relive the Virtual Boy in color...

Will the systems be emulated, or will the system by "on a chip"?

Will the games be downloadable on the Wii?

Awesome. I skipped over the GBA generation, and there were many original Gameboy games I never got around to buying.

If they'd allow NES and SNES games as well on this, there'd be a better chance I'd buy them than on the Wii. NES just now seems perfect for a handheld virtual console.

YEEEEEEEEES!

THIS is what can convince me to DO WANT a 3DS right out the door. However, I'm still gonna be holding off until a "3DS XL", since the bottom screen is smaller than a DSi's. Doesn't seem like a full-on upgrade.

Still, Virtual Handheld, here we go!
