Unlock Guybrush Threepwood in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2
42
As a fun exercise for the afternoon, you could try coming up with a canon-friendly explanation as to how nigh-mighty pirate Guybrush Threepwood -- spindly physique and all -- could become an inhabitant of the Star Wars universe. A bizarre curse wrought by the dreaded LeChuck? A mysterious inter-dimensional rift inside a mystical reef? LucasArts wizards looking to include a neat, unlockable model in next month's action-packed sequel, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2?
No matter the nature of your narrative, you'll have to make up the specifics for now. According to a winking LucasArts representative, "we're going to keep how it's unlocked a secret." We suspect "secret" is right -- as in, have a Secret of Monkey Island or Monkey Island 2 save file nearby. If it's not that, it's probably destroying one hundred flooring inspector droids.
I couldn't help but ask Monkey Island designer (and new Double Fine employee) Ron Gilbert what he thought of Guybrush's journey across the universe. "'Hi, my name is Guybrush Threepwood and I want to be a Jedi.' That was the original opening line in Monkey Island but they made me change it to 'pirate' and I had replace all the Stormtroopers with buccaneers and the Millennium Falcon became a pirate ship. Nice to see it's come back full circle," Gilbert said via email.
"I first heard about this last night and I wasn't sure what to think of it, but now that it's settled in, I think it's very cool. It says a lot about the strength of Monkey Island and Guybrush in that he can go toe-to-toe with Star Wars."

Awesome, though Guybrush has always looked weird in 3D. Pixel Guybrush forever! And maybe Curse of Money Island Guybrush as an honorable mention.

that is great. It would be out-of-this-world if rather than a light saber he had a light cultlass.

Dear people who still call models skins:
Models are completely new models. Skins are the textures on models. A skin is not a model by itself. A skin would be a different texture on an existing model.

Fair point, though even LucasArts calls it a skin. And since it seems to be an aesthetic change only, I don't think "skin" is totally inappropriate.

Then the person at LucasArts who describes it is an idiot and uses the term incorrectly as well. Note I am not calling you an idiot, since they called it one as well.
It bugs the hell out of people who work with these things.
It's like saying your car got a new body, but when it comes in, you tell someone "I got a new paintjob."
Aesthetic change or not, the model is changed. It is not longer Random Jedi #214, it is now Guybrush Threepwood.

the combat will need to be reworked to include insult fighting....
"I've spoken with jawas more polite then you."
"I'm glad to hear you attended your family reunion."
"I've got the courage and skill of a master jedi!"
"I'd be in real trouble if you ever used them."

If he isn't mute, this unlock could be better than the entirety of The Force Unleashed.

I have to say that I'd prefer the manly bearded Guybrush from Monkey Island 2 over this ugly Curse of Monkey Island style.
Does he use insults instead of force powers?

Guybrush's huge head in a realistic setting is bizarre... Kind of akin to big head mode in a basketball game

He better unleash a barrage of Jedi-level insults if I am to accept it's really Guybrush during the fighting portions.

He's a droid, or a gangly being in a Boushh-style mask.
Is my guess.
Presuming that's the actual model they're using, at the top of the post. That don't look like any organic skin/scales/carapace/etc.

Two things I love so much together at last. I just wish it would hav Guybrush's likeness and voice in the cutscenes... now that would be sweet. Sadly, it won't.

Guybrush wouldn't be canon at all, don't worry about it. Specific gameplay details like health numbers and alternate unlockable skins don't count as canon, only the broad strokes of the story. Otherwise you'd have to accept that Starkiller was also his droid through the entire story due to the unlockable PROXY skin.
On topic though, this is very cool, I like how he looks all dark and TFU art styley with the water pouring off him and the light shining off his hair.

Only for the PS360 version, though?
Granted, LucasArts has been acting like the Wii version doesn't exist. We've seen nothing of it other than the fact that it does exist.
