Assassin's Creed artwork being showcased in Paris gallery

Parisian gallery Arludik will feature concept art created for the Assassin's Creed series during the month of October. "Assassin's Creed L'Exposition" will run from October 5-30 and features 35 pieces of original concept art. Ubisoft claims the canvases have been appraised between €600 ($820) and €2,000 ($2,725).
If you'd like to own a piece of the exhibit, two pieces were selected to have a limited run of 149 lithograph prints. Those will go on sale, likely in the limited edition section of the gallery's website, for €80 ($110). Those pieces will come with a certificate of authenticity and will be hand-signed by Ubi's graphic art director. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to MO5, an organization seeking to preserve the history of video games.

The first game had a pretty nice reel art book. Did one ever get release for the second game?

What I want to think, "That's great, games (or I guess part of the process of creating them) are being recognized as art."
What I actually think, "Oh no, Ubisoft found another way to milk their IPs."
Thanks Ubisoft for corrupting and ruining my innocent mind.

I think you are too simplistic.
I bet you think that it makes no sense for people or the government to invest in the arts and cultural preservation when the money used for this could go to more 'worthy' things such as curing diseases and helping the poor.
On an immediate basis, this would make sense, but I don't think you understand the long-term benefits of cultural investment. Societies with higher investment in and preservation of cultural history are higher educated, less poor and less violent that countries that fail to make these investments. I don't have any links or anything for you, but I would have to assume that a society that has museums and galleries dedicated to its culture is more likely to be self-reflective and understanding of the importance of human civilization and likely to become more educated, less poor and more civil to other societies.
