How about the "Bust up the car" minigame? Only we might have to up the scale to something like a spaceship, given the scope of powers now available.

I don't doubt it. Capcom greatly underestimated how many copies SF4 would sell so it's justifiable that they're shooting for the stars with the sales estimates for this game.

Well of course. Anyone with a 360 or PS3 that doesn't own this game within one year of it's release no longer exists to me. Among my friends, even non-fans of fighting games love MvC 1&2, without exception. It's just a frickin' blast.

I'm still praying for Blade to be in the game, or added as DLC later. Also Nathan "Rad" Spencer, because HELL YES.

As super-hyped as SF4 was, I have a hard time believing that MvC3 would do better. That's like saying that Halo Reach did better than what Black Ops will do...

@My Prerogative

Halo Reach will sell better than Black Ops and Marvel vs Capcom 3 will sell better than SF4 and SSF4 combined.

It's just common sense.

@My Prerogative Hype doesn't mean sales. People love SF4 and SSF4 to death but it doesn't mean millions of sales. MvC3 has a much broader mainstream appeal and will sell more because of that.

no way in hell i'm buying the first release of MvC3.

look what they did with SF4 - they're going to come out with a better, super special edition of MvC3 by the end of next year. then i'll buy it.

They've never done special editions or re-releases for Vs. games, though. Just Street Fighter.

@Hawaii Jeff street fighter is about balance and timing, and has a very vocal fan base. when sf II was in arcades, arcade players would complain about certain things, and also capcom was in heavy competition to bring the tweaks the players wanted to arcades. they would make the minor updates, but then the fans wanted to be able to play the games in their homes.. so thats how that came about.

marvel vs capcoms fanbase is very casual and doesnt care about balancing and updates like that. mvc is one of the most unbalanced fighting games ever made, but thats because its not to be taken seriously... since theres that... they dont release updated copies of versus games that arent full fledged sequels.

@shouryuuken No people take MvC very seriously, but it's just not how it works. MvC2's excution is definitely higher than Street Fighter at a high level. Also balance =/= good or fun. It's nice, but overrated nowadays.

MvC3 looks great. I hope it turns out better than all of the other Capcom games that were made this gen.

MK is gonna be kill MvC3 though!

I still havent decided on that, its VERY hard to compare the two, BUT MK will kill SFIV though ((even if sales doesnt show it, MK9 is shaping up to be a promising rival)

You're right. They are different. I guess I'm a little biased cause I've played MK since the original released in arcades. I cannot wait for either fighter. Honestly, I'm bummed about MvC3 not having Blade but Deadpool is cool enough.

I've played MK since the original too and even though MK9 is looking to be great, the 3D trilogy wasn't very good compared to the original trilogy. Street Fighter is still the better series in my eyes.

"Capcom expecting better sales for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 than Street Fighter 4"

And right they should do, MVC has a VERY large fan base, you can see an example of this, as the hardcore tekken fans hate SF4 but will buy MVC as fighting fans.

+ look at fans of individual charaters, like spiderman, Wesker, Thor etc, This alone will create sales.

with everything taken into account + more, i see this selling more than SF4

It's a tough one. The Halo series is a platform maker and drew people to the Xbox in droves. Each successive release has broken sales records and Halo has a special place being the last entry from Bungie in the series. Sorry, the odds are stacked against Black Ops outselling Reach. But it could happen because they are releasing on that other box as well.

I would dare say Marvel vs. Capcom is definitely more popular than Street Fighter. Faster, more characters, and the overall nostalgia it owes to MvC2, which is still being played by hardcore fighters.

@DJMaxxi lol no way man.. i dont think mvc as a whole has sold a million copies while street fighter is capcoms most successful franchise.

marvel vs capcom came out at a weird time, and the vs games have just never been as popular as street fighter. in the past, i wouldnt have bet on mvc 3 doing better than sf IV, but marvel is probably more popular these days than it was when mvc hit the scene.. so ya never know.

but yeah.. street fighter is definitely more popular..

Well yeah, it was discontinued lol. It couldn't have sold all too many when they weren't making it. Which owes to the legacy of the game, which I was kind of getting at with my previous comment. But you definitely have a point, Street Fighter is more popular. But you can't argue that MvC as a whole appeals to more people with its fighting engine and overall flashy-ness.

Street Fighter IV was a resounding success for Capcom, and I enjoyed it a lot. It's my favorite costume game that also has fighting in it. I just can't get excited about MVC3. Enough is enough already.

hard to say, sure its popular on the Western countries but its not that popular in Japan. I think Capcom should lower their expectations a bit, they shouldve learned that after what they did with Lost Planet 2

man the tight thing would be if the characters that didn't make it to this game would be non-playable mid bosses like the entire x-men team that didn't make it.
