DK has been overlooked since Donkey Kong 64. I know that's because Rare made it but still, I missed seeing him in his own game that actually looks good & fun.

Might give me a reason to finally buy a Wii.

@Private Awesome Surprisingly, no. And yes, I did have the opportunity to play both. Neither was something I would go out and buy myself. This is a return to the type of side scrolling platformer I know and love.

I'm with Flapjackal. I've been wanting to play the Galaxy games, but quite frankly that isn't enough to buy a whole console. With the new DK game coming out, and a few other Wii games that I've had my eye on, I might finally get the system!

I'm loving that 60 frame-per-second goodness. Now if only I had the money to get a Wii...

I can't WAIT for this game. Was a huge fan of the old SNES games.

Screw the Wii. I'm rebuying a SNES with all the DK games.

This game looks so good and was really, really excited for it.
But the demo I played a PAX just did not hold up. :(
Plus the controls were awful. If you guys can get by that, good on you. I know I can't.

He-He-Here we go!
So they're finally here,
Performin' for you.
If you know the words
you can join in too.
Put your hands together,
If you want to clap,
As we take you through,
This Monkey Rap.
HUH!
D-K...Donkey Kong.

He's the leader of the bunch. You know him well.
He's finally back to kick some tail!
His coconut gun can fire in spurts
If he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt!
He's bigger! faster! and stronger too!
He's the first member of the DK crew!
D. K.! Donkey Kong! HEY!
D. K.! Donkey Kong is here!

What genre of music would that be? Rhythm & blues? Jazz? Drum & bass? Either way that soundtrack is awesome.

I guess I'm the only one that's gonna miss the crocs as enemies. :(
I will get the game regardless.

I think the SNES ones had better graphics, the sprites pushed more pixels than textured low-poly models.

My fiancee is incredibly excited for this game.
She's one of those few nongamers that actually enjoy sidescrolling platformers. So when she bought DK64 on ebay for nearly a fortune, she was disappointed to find out that she needed the analog thumbstick. She can't navigate in a 3D space with them.
I'm glad to see that it's almost exactly like the SNES classics.
Looks fantastic, too.

Pretty much the same here. My girl doesn't play a lot of games but the ones she does play she pours 25, 40 or even in the case of the sims hundreds of hours into. She mostly plays Nintendo games and stuff like katamari, little big planet and especially mario galaxy.

I don't know what to say. I mean, it looks cool and all but there is much there thats getting me excited to play it. It reminds me of an even less inspired remake / reimagining than Punch Out was. The Kirby game was the only thing I was at E3 on Wii from Nintendo that actually got me excited. But, make no mistake that I'm getting this if only for the kids and my old lady. It just seems (from the trailers anyway) like something that should be a $15 downloadable game. Not trying to hate, just being honest.
