EA claims Medal of Honor has broken franchise pre-order record
39
Electronic Arts announced this morning that its massively marketed Medal of Honor reboot, launching October 12, has had the highest number of "pre-sells," as it calls them, "in the franchise's 11-year history." Considering the franchise's shaky history for the past eight years, and the absence of bonus goodies like Battlefield 3 beta access, that achievement is kinda like winning the Tour de France on a Harley.
No actual pre-sell figures were shared by EA. We'll get our first retail reports from the UK charts next month, followed by a much clearer picture from the NPD report in November. Our blessings go out to all the games getting involved in that brutal month's retail warfare.

If that's the best boast EA can come up with I have doubts for MOH's final performance
I kinda hope it flops so DICE would learn that karma bites back for the sorry "VIP" thing, and address the mapathy of BC2 (anyone knows are the Vietnam DLC for BC2 integrated into base game map rotation? or it's basically a 4-maps seperate mode, a la Battlefield 1969?)

People are already starting to get sick of Modern Warfare-type games.
Solution? Create more! :D

I second that.
An other thing...
Don't understand the urge for useless info like this. Who cares, i don't.
This doesn't urge me to go out and buy one.
This sounds more like EA lying to themselves or trying not to sound desperate BY sounding desperate and having a weird smile at the end.

I can believe this. The past games have never really seemed to sell that much since Call of Duty came to be.
Will be interesting to see how this fairs against Black Ops.

Plus, pre-orders are just a much bigger thing nowadays so it's not really a fair assessment of how good the game is doing.

Considering I picked up Battlefield Bad Company 2 around the release date without pre-ordering after printing off a Dell product page to get 11 dollars off at Best Buy, I could see why there might be a little more interest in this pre-order.
Okay wait, I forgot that you had to pre-order just to get into the Beta. That's probably why.

Looking forward to the single player campaign. Multiplayer should be fun for about a week before it because a cheatfest against people who play little else 24/7,

I'm not big on the whole game. Beta sucked regardless of it being just that, a beta. It was terrible. Dice doing the MP is lame as I'm not big on BF:BC past SP. If only the MP of MoH was like the SP footage I've been seeing. For shame. I think this will fail on that fact but first on how bad the beta presented itself.
I guess I'll have to swallow some more of that broken juice Call of Duty is bringing. I feel crappy about liking FPS.

I highly doubt it will come close to Black ops's sales.

Why is this even news? MOH games from the past werent ever pre-order newsworthy. Of course this game is gonna get more preorders than normal because it's riding on COD's succes.

What ever guys. Game previews have been looking pretty good on this game. Only negative thing I can say about it was it had a poor beta but DICE has a pretty solid track record.

I almost canceled my preorder for this, based on the strength of Reach. I liked Reach better than I thought I would, and MoH will be cutting into my already limited Halo: Reach playtime. But I LOVED BF: BC2. More than any game this past year. So despite the community's feelings about the MoH beta, and my current love affair with Bungie's offering, I am willing to give DICE the benefit of the doubt here, and buy MoH day one. But you only get ONE gimmie DICE... if you burn me here... I don't forget.
