I love the 256 person limit. Did the PS3 only have one 8bit register left for players once the rest of the game was loaded into memory?

Also, they bumped up the maximum number of players in a single game to 257, and man, you can really tell the difference. That one dude adds a level of intensity that -- okay, fine, that's not one of the changes. The real changes can be read after the jump.

@AirIntake Hah. C'mon, they just picked a limit the server/gameplay could handle. And if it can handle about 300, you're a programmer, what are you going to pick? 300? Nope! 256 it is.

No doubt that one-byte player ID helps shave a desperately needed, er, other byte or so off network packets, too...

Thinking I might buy this. Only thing is, Gamestop are such douchebags that they won't allow you to exchange a used game for another used game if you don't like it. Which, is understandable, but why not just allow us to exchange it once?

@lenandude Oh, and the only game store here other than places like Target and Walmart is Gamestop. The store I actually like is 20 minutes away.

Umm, why are they douchebags for that?

The reason they don't do that is because it would massively reduce their profits, probably to the point where they were out of business. It simply isn't common practice to be able to return a game for another game. That's why you should play demos, read reviews, and even rent games, before buying them.

Don't forget online retailers for used games. I think they are the best way to go for a bargain. But they aren't going to let you rent games for free, either.

@lenandude Yeah they're being giant douchebags. You can exchange it if you don't like it. It's in the back of the receipt. Just has to be in seven days. Threaten to call the district manager or something if they refuse.

Actually, you CAN exchange a used game for another used game. As long as it's within 7 days of the original purchase date. Our store, in NC, we let people do that. It is policy and should be printed on the receipt.

By the way, I'm NOT a douchebag! Lol.

Really? That s a very nice policy. Good grief.

Googling.

Oh, ummm.... never mind.

"We reserve the right to limit returns to unopened or defective products." (Gamestop.com).

We do not accept returns of:

* Any product(s) that has been opened (taken out of its plastic wrap).

* Any product(s) that is damaged, played, or is missing parts.

The agreement was that the store can refuse a return of a game that you played and didn't like. I guess some local stores have a much more awesome and customer friendly policy, and you've experienced that, but if it were my store, I would refuse such returns (I do sell games, btw, and don't think I would turn a profit if I had this friendly policy).

@lenandude - Gamestop does ALLOW you to return a USED game back either for a full refund or exchange for another used game or equal or lesser value (you could get a more expensive used game if you want, you just have to pay the difference) if you don't like the used game you got, beat it within the 7 days, or if you just don't want it anymore.

It's ONLY for used games. Brand new games can be returned back for refund as long as you don't open the game and it's within 30 days. If there's something wrong with it, like it won't play/work or skips, whatever then they'll exchange it for the same exact title.

This site is supposedly for "Hardcore" gamers, well supposedly 90% of the people that leave comments think they're "hardcore", but they don't even know Gamestop's return policy on used games? LMAO!

I know there might be some that never knew that and or never tried that, although EVERY time I have gotten a game used from there they usually always tell me that I have 7 days to return it back "if I don't like it, beat it right away, or for whatever reason" or if they don't then I always ask to make sure its still part of the return policy, especially if I get a game that I'm a little unsure about if I really want to keep it or not because of mixed reviews and what not.

I've never went and got a game just to get achievement points and then return it back for another simple game or something like that, nor have I ever used their system as like a rental system or anything like that. I do think though if you "abuse" their return policy for stuff like that and they recognize you since your coming in once a week constantly returning a used game, even if it's for another one then they can refuse your return. Even if the store you go to gets a lot of business and it's almost impossible for them to remember people because there's so many that come in, then I think your receipt shows the first used game you got and returned and then shows the second, third, and so on if you were to have done it a lot. So I'm sure there's at least a few ways they can know if your always buying a used game and then returning it for another one or for your money back a lot of times even if you have someone else go in for you do they don't recognize you, because you HAVE to have your receipt for them to either refund your money or exchange for a different title.

I tried the beta using the move controller. I couldn't figure out the gestures to switch to grenades and stuff like that. I hope they've added instructions to the controls settings.

@Troy Powers

I believe the gesture you're looking for is "move second or third digit of the left hand over the L2 button and then contract said finger" :P It's mostly cursor based instead of gestures. They did say how in the training, but I'd imagine people playing before might not have done that (I only just got it, so I did the training).

New "Improved Knife Damage" skill increases the
amount of damage knife attacks do to enemy soldiers

seriously? how can you increase the amount of damage to a one hit instant kill weapon?

I could be wrong, but I think I remember hearing a while ago that if you attack someone who's using the heaviest armor, it damages them significantly, but doesn't kill them. Maybe this upgrade makes it a one-hit kill for that armor, too.

@prime8 If I'm not mistaken, you could kill with one hit if you get them from behind or on sides, but if you hit in the front was two hits.

@King Johngie the Fourth yes, yes you need a certain level. all the weapons you earned, gone, you have to rebuy them AND you need a specific level to purchase them. they still consume EP(equip points, i just call it that because i completely forgot what it was called).

I think the patch does bring some good to the game but I was very satisfied with the skill tree and weapon selection where it was and do not really like having respec points capped. I like to experiment with the skills to attain my perfect loadout. I had over 200000 XP banked and changed my loadoats pretty frequently as I'm working on the last of the medals I need to get.

Hopefully the update and new low price will incentivise to get more players back into the game and make matchmaking faster.
