Not only does the demo do a good job of showing how the series' gameplay mechanics have translated over to the motion controller, it also includes a few interesting details about multiplayer -- for instance, there will be separate matchmaking playlists for people using the DualShock 3 and people using the Move. But what about the people like us, who plan on playing the game using a Dance Dance Revolution pad? Where's our playlist?
Killzone 3's Move functionality demoed on video

Though we thought up a few applications for the PlayStation Move controller at first glance, we hadn't really considered its capacity for inflicting unthinkable violence upon the Helghast. Fortunately, PlayStation.Blog was recently able to fill in the blanks in our imagination, demoing Killzone 3's Move functionality in the video posted after the jump.

Its a good thing they made it Move V Move DS v DS, cause DS would RAPE Move and people might stop using it otherwise, the Move doesnt look as bad as i thought it would be with KZ3 but it looks better suited with SOCOM.
I think be sticking to my DS3 for KZ, but im sure some will love move feature, ill try it out before it out before i completley dismiss it but, hmm

Have you played it with Move? While I wouldn't bet against your statement, I could see the Move control scheme stacking up well against the DS3 in the right hands seeing how the tech is so precise.

I completely disagree. I think Move players will have an advantage. It's much easier and faster to aim in a shooter w/ a controller like move. My friends and I all played the hell out of shooters on the Wii and the PS3 and we all agree that the Wii controls are much better suited for aiming a gun in a shooter game. It just takes time to adjust and become skilled... just like it does for people who start playing w/ a DS3 controller. Can't wait to play a game where we can compete w/ DS3 vs. Move so I can wipe the floor w/ people using a DS3.

@MrVee PSN Vampah Dual Analog makes auto aim a requirement. Move makes auto aim an option. No one can brag about their skills in a FPS game if they're using dual analog with auto aim enabled. Seriously, who brags about using training wheels to ride a bike? Dual Analog and auto aim is just that. An aim bot to assist the player because dual analog is a clumsy mess when it comes to fps games and the developers know this. Turn off auto aim and the dual analog players will die horribly to Move players under many circumstances other than an outright ambush.

False, i know there is no way to prove it to you, you will have to take my word for it,
I turn OFF auto aim when playing FPS,
COD current settings:
Auto aim Off
Aiming speed: Custom
I never ever play with default settings.

@MrVee PSN Vampah I wouldn't make any judgements on the Move just yet, it could be more akin to the accuracy of a keyboard and mouse, long touted as the best way to control fps'. I think the Move has the potential to be a better control scheme for fps for specific players, just as I prefer a DS to a keyboard and mouse, some players may prefer a Move to a DS.

As i said, the move will clearly excell, especialy in a game like SOCOM.

We call GT5 a racing sim even tho it has 3rd person view dont we?
Please i c no one agrees with me, and thats completley fine, but lets not try to flame.
Killzone is not a 2-life game, its got made up weapons, made up people, made up planets, its a game, not a simulator. Medal of honor is more of a sim than Kz3

I don't think you know what a simulator is.
GT5 has a cockpit view, that most people use. Do some friggin research on a game like GT5.
A shooting simulator would have to be extremely realistic to be called that. Health regen is a big NO.

You're exactly why I don't bother with COD type games. Are you one of those kids that screams a lot through a headset? Personally I like to keep it varied and not sink 600 hours into a single game. If I play FPS games online I don't fare well amongst the hoards of uber COD geeks who insist on picking on the obviously easy target so they can advance more quickly than their equally as geeky compatriots. The Move controls would at least add a bit of depth to the experience and even the playing field out a bit for those of us who like to use thumb sticks for things other than securing easy headshots.
Remember kids, your ability to spend your life constantly hooked up to Sony's servers does not a hardcore gamer make. That takes years of dedication to a vast variety of titles on a huge array of consoles and... time! I'm currently clocking up my 26th year as a gamer (having started on my old 2600 at the tender age of 4). It's about genuine enjoyment and experience, not how quickly you can rank up.

I mean of course it's expected but the guy in the demo was holding it like he would a regular controller just with a little bit of hand movements. I'm not bashing Killzone 3 AT ALL. & for el serpiente, can you please stop following me. Eveytime I post something, you post something right under it. It's really creeping me out.

Right but can anyone else really deny the the reasoning for the move and kinect existence was from the subsequent success of the Wii? I have all 3 and really have no vested interest but I remember the Wii being shown, etc and thinking it was a cool idea. Don't want to say "I knew it all along," because even when I bought it I figured it was going to be a bit too quirky for people to get into, I'm still reeling over the Virtual Boy. /shutters. But there lies in the difference, Nintendo put in Work so the Wii was a motion control system, while the PS Move and Kinect are peripherals that so far haven't really inspired anything worth saying "I need to get it for that game!" Where as when I saw Zelda, I had to have the Wii.
So far everything I've seen for both MS and Sony's systems haven't inspired much excitement since my experience won't really be too diminished if I don't have have either one. Well maybe with children of eden.. Still on the fence if I like it or not..

I don't really think much of motion controls in general. I haven't found anything to like about them so far (MKWii at a friend's house, Wii Music and Sin & Punishment 2 at Gamestop).
However, the PS Move was apparently first shown as an internal tech-demo in 2001, with a recorded/more public demo in 2004. All I know of the Wii's version of things is that it started off as a Gamecube peripheral but grew into a full console.
Although I think Killzone 3 and Heavy Rain would certainly entice me to the Move if I were a fan of motion controls (just like Zelda and Metroid would've probably been the "it" games for me on the Wii).

Doesn't really mattered who "started" doing what 1st, all that matters who got to the finish line 1st with an actual successful product, and Nintendo did. The entertaining thing I find is how hard they are pushing their "motion" controls when they were really quick to initially dimiss it. What I don't see is as much as any company is pushing "innovation" angle they still remain relatively safe with their games. OOoh another fps but no it uses THIS thing.. Meh.. I was actually thinking the other day I maybe getting old.. All I'm into these days is SSFIV and that's about it.

Well Twilight Princess is in the same boat then I'd argue. The game was originally made for Gamecube then suddenly they ported it to the Wii with motion controls. I'd call that similar to what many Move-enabled games are doing (built around dual analog with motion added later in development.)
Also, I don't want to come off as defending everything Sony or Microsoft does, but what would you say when your biggest gaming competitor came out with a control scheme you've been working on for the past 5-6 years but you don't want the public to know you're doing the same thing later on. They tried to brush it off as not being something major at the time, and probably were a bit too arrogant (Sony feeling the bitter sting of defeat maybe?), but they needed to reassure people that they were still trying to be on top.
tl;dr: It's just PR. Sony needed to show investors they didn't need to worry, but they were a little overboard at times.

If you're waiting to perfect a motion controller you'd been working on for years, and a competitor rushed an obviously flawed version (the original wiimote) to market... well, what exactly can you do but wait till you get yours perfected (just like your original plan)?
That Wii was successful only validates your initial research.

Why? Because it's probably going to be "more of the same, but better"? I know KZ2 lacked a lot of memorable moments and landscapes, and KZ3 will probably follow the same path, but I could care less. It was still a fun experience for me, and that's only mentioning the single player.

Agreed, it was like as if it was being deliberatly avoided. Even the side by side clips didn't look all that interesting or convincing.
What they need is a third person veiw so we can see the gamer and the game at the same time. No changing perspectivs, just a straight view for a few seconds to see grenade tossing, shooting, turning etc.
I've always wanted to play a shooter with motion controls the way I dreamed they should be, Killzone 3 has a chance to demonstrate that, so far however I havent seen much :(
