Sweet. Sounds like a perfect time for me to finally pick up Borderlands and see what all the fuss is about.

@Liquidfingers I think it has to do with the creative art style, the non-linear mission objectives, the 4-player co-op, and around 17,750,000 different guns to chose from.

Uh...no. It's the constant reward system, that's what everyone plays it for consciously or unconsciously. Missions are short sweet and plentiful and you constantly get rewarded for everything you do. The human mind loves this and that's why people play these "MMO" style games.

@Liquidfingers :: It's okay, but you will want to play it with a friend (or two), and hopefully they want to play when you want to play.

@SpeeGold if you like skags, you will love the classy ladies in Duke's new/old joint. Also, it looks like Duke has hands like a lady in the photo. (I know its a hooker hand, but on first glance I cracked up) "time to chew bubble gum and get manicures...and i'm all outta gum.

How about the reward system that rewards people that don't pre-order it and buy it a year later at a discounted price and get DNF demo and other goodies? How is that rewarding to me? They still haven't patched knoxx dammit!

I played Borderlands at a friend's house. Rather, watched him play.

I think it would have gone better if he wasn't using an old 8400GT.

Might just pick it up myself.

@Enosoma It's a lot of fun and brings hours of enjoyment and a unique style that you won't forget anytime soon. It's one of those games you think about, long after you've put your time into it. Kinda like your first, but this is much better and all good memories.

Exactly how I feel. They should give people who bought all the DLC and such early access as well. But no matter, I'll just download a leaked copy of the demo if they are gonna be lame about it.

@PR0F3TA What do you mean purchase a whole new game? What about the those, like myself, who dished out top price when Borderlands was first released, than paid for each DLC after that?

I'm starting to see remnants of EA in 2K Games...

Isn't it more beneficial to have the content on the disc instead of your harddrive? I'm asking because I have Borderlands but not the DLC. Do I potentially pay more for it on disc or just buy the DLC? Is one way better for any reason?

My main concern is what if something happens to my console 10 years from now and I want to play it then? If I get a new console now, I can re-download items I've purchased. Will I still be able to do this in 10 years? It's a long time I know, but that's just one example I can think of.

I guess if it's on the disc, it's tied to the disc and I can have it wherever I want maybe, but if I download it, then it's tied to the console...?

@Voshempa But what if in 9 years, internet cease to exist? then you wouldn't be able to download anything from anywhere.

I don't know, just saying.

@Nikkinik True. Or I could be dead! Lots of time, I know. I just didn't know if there were perks to having DLC on the disc VS downloading them. Maybe not...

They should just make a quick patch that enables a link from the game to download the demo. Otherwise it's just wrong. Besides, don't they WANT people to demo the game?

What does the GOTY edition cost? I haven't picked up any Borderlands DLC yet. If I could sell my copy of Borderlands and pick up the GOTY edition for less than the cost of all the DLC, I might do that.

Gamestop.ca and .com are both listing it for $59.99.

Original version is $29.98.

So you can wait, and spend $59.99, or get it now and spend $29.98, then $40 on PSN. Its a whopping 2 ccents cheaper if you got none of it.

If it was $40 or so I was considering it... but not spending $20 more for a demo, and a game I own.

So they're using the fake game to sell other games now? Well done for recycling that one marketing team!

Borderlands is a great game on it's own, it doesn't need to be associated with that old BS.

Well since I bought this game TWICE once on 360 and once on steam with the dlc! I think I am entitled to download this Duke Nukem demo from the underbelly of the internets where it will no doubt show up the second this GOTY comes out.
