Here's where Cammie Dunaway literally went

For many, working at Nintendo would be a dream job, helping to promote a brand that's been synonymous with wonder, fun and innovation for decades. So what could draw former EVP of Sales and Marketing Cammie Dunaway away from the company? We've got the answer, straight from a recent press release:

"After three years guiding kids through the virtual world of video games, Dunaway now is taking on the real-world entertainment of KidZania. Mexico-based KidZania is a global entertainment and educational phenomenon where kids explore and run a kid-sized city, complete with streets, buildings, businesses, vehicles and more."

No, we're not not shitting you. Cammie Dunaway quit Nintendo to be the mayor of a city of children in Mexico. We'll be sure to bring you the scoop when she drops a boulder on Piggy.

As amusing and awesome of a life update this may be I just have to ask "Why?" Nintendo was making the bucks, why would you do this?

I can actually approve of leaving the gaming industry to make hippo tissue holders but I do not condone this. D:

The first thing that comes to my mind is WTF!!!. Does this mean that Kidzania pays better than Nintendo? I'm a Mexican and I think this is freakin' nuts.

When I was a child, the Seattle Center had a room that was full of kid-sized representations of things like a grocery store, bus, etc . . . and I recall being completely immersed in the experience of being able to "use" these grown up things that are normally off limits to kids, and it stuck with me for years. This Kidzania thing looks like that concept on steroids, I had no idea something like this existed, I wish I was a kid again and could experience this from that mindset.

I'm pretty sure she didn't actually quit. She was fired and deported all in one quick swoop.

This will go down in Nintendo history.

@sammo21 Don't know why, but apart from Samus' endless ramblings, Other M grows on me the more I play, the "foreplay" to the Ridley battle alone was worth every Euro I spent. Samus? Freaking out like OMFGZ0RZ?!!?. Priceless :)

Well, it coulden't be anymore stupid than that "reggie for president" joke a few years back. Now that i think about it, that would actually be pretty awesome.

As long as this isn't some kind of veiled attempt to get kids working in sweatshop factorys ("they're playing grown up!") it's a really really interesting concept.

So many ways it could go wrong--and Mexico's reputation doesn't exactly assuge my concerns--but there is a small chance that it could be really awesome.

@Crayola Q Pants ESQ You're too kind. Maybe it's a bad, bad cliché, but what if those kids wake up one morning minus a kidney or some other piece of self? Or am I too drastic?
