Update: Ubisoft has informed Joystiq that the re-release is a real product, being released in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) territories only.

And here I thought.....

It's listed at 29.99 euros. That puts it at about $40 US which is what the God of War collection debuted at. I'll probably wait for the pr ice to come down a bit. Also would like to see a 360 version for the Achievement points, but I'll get the PS3 version eventually if need be, I still need to play 2 thrones.

Great games when they came out, I just can't see myself buying the same game I bought years ago, even if they look prettier.

WTF, why not just go ahead and confirm a North American release? I can't believe that Ubisoft is really only going to release this to Europe.

@Courtney - Amazon UK probably ships to the US if you're interested. A PS3 will play Euro PS3 games as far as I'm aware.

@Courtney It'll probably hit NA a wee while after Europe. Exactly the same thing happened in reverse with GoW collection. I had to import mine from the states, but it did arrive in UK shops a couple of months down the road.

No texture re-authoring from original assets, updated particle effects, or self-shadowing? It doesn't look like they're doing MSAA, either. WTF?

Ditch the 3D and give us better quality assets!

ugh. I hope the audio assets were at least re-authored in a lossless format. Otherwise, the PC version will remain the preferred version.

My husband and I are HUGE fans of the PoP trilogy, played them on Xbox and was a highlight of our experience on that console. I was excited to hear about this re-release, but these screenshots aren't inspiring a first-day purchase :(

Hopefully they provide more details soon that will address some of our concerns.

From what I heard... They've added anti aliasing and they're redoing (or at least CHANGING) the textures.

Don't get your panties in a bunch yet!

@liquidsoap89 - No. What you see is what they consider "redone". If the game comes out in a month, there's no time to "redo" anything. What you see is what you're getting.

WTF why are the remakes for Europe only? Makes absolutely no sense! I'm one of those people who have never played the trilogy and I would buy an HD version with trophies/achievements in a heart beat.

Hey man, importing is pretty cheap and depends on ur customs law. Gamestation or eStarland charges 6 or 7 dollars to ship and deliver in my country (argentina) and the game prices are the same than in the US so, import away.

Prince was only "Emo" for the second game in the Sands trilogy. And even then, he didn't really act it.

Guess only Sands of Time is worth replaying. They should've dropped them separated on PSN/XBLA and cherged 10 each, far more reasonable in a customer point of view.

Warrior Within was a better game than Sands of Time. Best game of the trilogy in fact. All I ever heard against it was whining about something as superficial as the player character's look.

I don't think that's gonna be a problem, since the MK trilogy was on Walmart's or gamestop site, those Prince of Persia was saw on European sites along with Splinter Cell, so we can expect Splinter Cell collection being European release only as well. But I'm okay with it, I'll import.

I bought blu-ray movies from amazon UK and got the Special Edition of Heavy Rain on hmv.com.

Both purchases was without any problems, I'll just check who will offer the cheaper shipping charges.

It's highly unlike, because 3 last gen games with updated graphics and 3D support won't fit on a single DVD-9 format from xbox. It doesn't make sense to pay extra to release on multiple discs either, since these games are already old.

@jocaju Really, no offense but 1-2 dvd's in a package is not unheard of even 3, still see no reason for not releasing on 360, even blu ray discs only cost a few cents to make, this is a lame excuse.

On the other hand sony is ingenious for releasing these HD remakes, i love em for it. Microsoft could learn a lot from the dummies that make a system they dont support (COUGH PSP COUGH).

Why not this for Wii? I don“t need the HD, just the trilogy in one disk like Metroid Prime Trilogy and maybe some extras. It would be a day one purchase for me.
