I wish Game Developers look at this and see how awesome it is. Mass Effect 2 was Mind Blowing. Every time i start a new game in ME2, i replay ME1. Imagine if Fallout: New Vegas let you do this with Fallout 3? WOW. Take notes Game Dev's, ...take notes.

@Riley Freeman

To be honest if it is anything like Mass Effect 2 i'd rather not. There was no real choices that carried over that weren't more than "Oh hey, you helped me out!" And considering the MASSIVE choice made at the end regarding the council I didn't really enjoy having them completely written out. It wasn't handled very well and I don't really expect much from this.

I don't know why you were downvoted because everything you said was true. The impact of the choices you made was weak and it really seemed like it didn't matter at all. If you chose to save the rachni queen you get what two lines of dialogue from that.

It's because it's the truth. Fact is the truth and video games just don't mix. If you say you didn't like something it's always "You never played it" or "You're just a troll/fanboy." Well I hate to break it to you, but considering the massive hype the series that every single choice had consequences carried throughout the entire trilogy, Bioware dropped the ball every chance they got. They said over 1000 variables available in ME3, but I'm not holding my breath.

The problem is what you're saying isn't so much a fact as a strongly held opinion. And by posting it as a reply, you're seriously raining on someone's parade. Why not just post your own comment instead of contradicting his opinion with yours? That's why you get downvoted and why you're seen as a troll.

How is not fact exactly?

http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/103/index/1472797/1

This is a 411 page discussion about it. Many of the complaints being hyped that all our choices will carry over and many rarely did and if they did it was so minor it's like you did nothing at all.

While it did not change the overall experience there were some key elements that were more than a few lines difference. I played with a fresh start and a few saved games. For example Wrex is alive and kicking with one of my saves, but he is not there with a fresh start. There were a lot of minor characters that show up depending on how you interacted with them. Williams vs Alenko, etc.

Granted these are all minor, but it is the little things that matter sometimes.

I really should get around to playing more Dragon Age.

If only I could play it on the PC, instead of fighting the controls on a console.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze,
it is a great game (only played the PC version). Unfortunately I never got to finish it because I couldn't get myself immersed like I did in cinematic games like ME :(

Same here vmenge! I am working at it... slowly... just wish it was more epic like ME1/2... which though... DA2 looks like it will be!

I've played it in short bursts, not been able to bring myself to finish it though (on final mission path now)

This is old news if you read Game Informer. I read about this several months ago. Good news is good news, though.

The importance of importing saves is entirely dependent on the assumption that I will play the game, which after seeing how badly it has been dumbed down, sorry, "streamlined," is a laughable assertion.

@BrosefStalin I take it you've played it then. How dumbed down is it, exactly? I heard it was largely unchanged, at least for the PC version. Just better animations and smoother combat flow. Fewer spells this time, but the remaining ones are a lot more useful. What are they doing that makes it so dumbed down?

If you watch one of the videos, it kind of looks like Dragon Age: Dynasty Warriors. =P

But I'm still interested in it.

@BrosefStalin

I actually played it at PAX and it did not seem dumbed down to me. Smoother and faster paced, certainly, but not dumbed down. Really, the way it played wasn't *that* different from the console versions of the first game (they were only showing it on consoles). People are greatly exaggerating the difference.

@BrosefStalin I dunno, they could borrow some parts from ME and it would certainly make the game better. It didn't really have much to do with something like Baldur's Gate, so streamlining could be good (at least on the consoles) if they can make the combat more exciting on consoles. Also, voiced dialogue is instantly better than the type of dialogue the original game had.

Seen this as Eurogamer.. the console versions look only a little better than DAO.. could see all the animations in conversations were just copy/paste into DA2.. still.. waiting on the collectors edition

Read this on 1Up earlier, so psyched for this game. The import is logical considering DA2 will cross over from DA:O in some way.

Heard also there will be a 'rivalry system' where you can actually have deep moral clashes with certain issues, instead of them just getting angry or walking away. Bioware sure know how to add extra dimensions to their games.

Not sure about this seeing as how they didn't even do that good of a job with the Awakening carry-over. Maybe the endings of each faction will carry over better than than your character relationships.

I still think it would be cool if you ran across your character from DA:O sometime in the game. It would be even cooler if you teamed up and your old character could be a part of your party in DA2. Of course you could only do that if you had a certain ending from DA:O, but it would be absolutely amazing if they could work that into the game somehow.

@Ospov I think that would kinda blow. First off, the graphics engine seems to be entirely new, so you probably wouldnt be able to recognize them outside of the name, but more importantly, if you actually spoke to them instead of just seeing them in the background somewhere it would totally not match with how you played.

@TheDarkWayne

I don't really think it would be that hard to recognize them...especially if they're calling them "The Hero of Fereldan" or whatever. And if they could actually take the actions you did and turn them into a personality for the character I think it would work out quite nicely. Of course that would be an absolute ton of work for BioWare to do, but if they did it I think it could be a great part of the game.

Eh I really wasn't that into Dragon Age, I tried it for a few good hours and never got it down. I like Mass Effect but Dragon Age 2 is a distant maybe in my books.

I just hope that if we were to import our character the Hawke character doesn't have to be a friggin' twin. I want to import, but keep it fresh.

Any word on being able to import your save game from PC on a 360 version? In the interview in GameInformer, they said they were considering it.

I still have to play the first one.

But I know if I play the 2nd, I'm definitely choosing the female Hawke. She looks so badass!
