Mass Effect 2 DLC discounted next week on XBLM
32
On a quest to spend at least 2400 Microsoft Points before the month is out? BioWare, it seems, wants to help out -- both Kasumi's Stolen Memory and Overlord DLC packs for Mass Effect 2 are dropping to $5 a pop (down form $7), as part of next week's XBLM deal. It may be called the "Deal of the Week," but in this case, we prefer calling it "The Obvious Purchase."

...although honestly, since I've lasted this long, I may as well just wait for the GOTY edition.

Quickly for those interested:
Kasumi is a cool character herself, but the mission isn't that great. Overlord is an awesome mission with good action and a great ending. That being said, it's very short - about an hour and a half.
To sum it up, only get Kasumi if you are a hardcore Mass Effect fan, otherwise skip it. Overlord though, is a must download for 5 bucks.

I'd say get Kasumi if you're planning to do another play through, or are getting all the DLC. She is an awesome character, her bonus power is nice and you get a supped up SMG.
Overlord is really, really awesome. It was my favorite mission from the whole game.

Ah I forgot about that. No deal for me then. I'll just have to hope they discount the DLC again sometime down the line.
Thanks a bunch.

Just an FYI: I'm not sure that there was ever an official answer found but there was some speculation that discounted content didn't count towards the 2,400 MSP offer.
In fact, I think it was on the very Major Nelson blog post that is linked but I cannot remember.

Correct. DoTW and Discounted items do NOT count towards the 2400 points spent.

Actually, the offical twitter for Xbox Support has confirmed for multiple people that DoTW and items from the Sequal Sale Extravaganza *DO* count towards the 2400 points needed for the rebate.

From the same source, the items which do not count are:
-Zune Content
-Avatar Gear
-Games on Demand
-Game Room Games
-Indie Games
-Themes and Gamerpics
-Videos
-Gamertag Change
-Rock Band/Guitar Hero Import Fees

Thanks for posting that! I was suddenly worried that the AC2 dlc I bought the other day wouldn't count and waiting to see if the ME2 dlc went on sale was all in vain.
With the AC2 and ME3 DLC counting towards the 800msp rebate, I'm going to be getting a whole bunch for my money this month. It almost feels like Steam.... almost.

Blerg. Bought this stuff last month sometime. The only one I need is the shadowbroker one. Oh well, I'll still get that, deathspank 2, and maybe the sacrifice...though I've heard it's not really worth it...and it's pretty lame that you have to buy it twice for it to work with both games.

You missed the photoshopping opportunities, Joystiq! You should've made all those green squares into dollar bills!

When I read the headline I was getting pissed...I just got the Shadow Broker DLC (awesome btw) 2 days ago...now regarding the old DLC I got them on day one. If you only have the green for 1 then overload is the one to get.
