Outside of this confirmation, IGN has the debut trailer for the game (embedded after the break), which echoes this morning's announcement -- X-Men: Destiny will be a choice-driven game. With New York Comic Con kicking off this weekend, hopefully we'll learn more about just what kind of choices we'll be asked to make.

Perhaps you were expecting Too Human 2? Though Silicon Knights claims that the trilogy treatment is still planned for the Too Human series, Activision has confirmed that Denis Dyack's studio is in fact developing X-Men: Destiny.
Outside of this confirmation, IGN has the debut trailer for the game (embedded after the break), which echoes this morning's announcement -- X-Men: Destiny will be a choice-driven game. As much as I didn't like Too Human, I'm glad to see SK finally get some work. Big ups!

I glanced at the headline at thought it said "Suge Knight is X-Men: Destiny developer."
Needless to say, I'm... a little disappointed.

Holla if ya hear me!

Speaking as someone who LIKED Too Human, this is an inspired choice of developer.
Plus it's good to know SK is still kickin'. Nothing worse than all these studio closings.

Gad dammit, just when you thought comic book based video games were catching a break and being done right.
I would love to be proven wrong, but I have absolutely no faith in the studio that took nearly a decade to produce one of the most broken games I've ever had the please of not playing to completion. Hopefully that take some inspiration from Rock Steady, Raven and Beenox.

I love it when people ignore the sweet sweet chocolate rain that a developer has brought us just because there was ONE GAME they did not like.
Blood Omen Legacy of Kain, Eternal Darkness, and Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes think that you're just a great big doodie-head.

MGS was garbage. It was riddled with framerate issues, awful art direction and other various problems. Maybe it had too much outside control, but there shouldn't have a problem remaking a game to mimic a PS2 game on superior hardware.
I never got around to playing Eternal darkness, but Legacy of kain was good. Then again, that game came out 14 years ago.

I don't like how polar gamers have become. It's either the BEST GAME OF ALL TIME or COMPLETE GARBAGE.
Twin Snakes was fantastic, and I never noticed any of the problems you ran into while you played it. The only issue I had with it was that the addition of a first-person perspective ruined the Revolver Ocelot fight.

If it was a brand new game, then okay, that's fine. But it was a remake. They weren't reinventing any thing. Story from MGS1 with gameplay from MGS2. Easy. The problem was they kept everything from MGS1 the same without taking the updated game elements into consideration. The characters seemed to be larger in size, yet the level design remained the same (think the tank battle). But that's not entirely SK's fault; Kojima should've had more involvement.

Well first of all, it's not ignoring the "rain" if you didn't know it existed. The only game i played from (or realized was from Silicone Knights) was Too Human, and that was shit. So yes, that has dampened my interest in this game.
I played a horrible game, and that is all i have to associate SK with.
I did say that I would love to be proven wrong, but my opinion can only be influenced by my experiences.

I suppose that I am in the minority, but I absolutely loved Too Human. Sure, the game had some flaws here and there and took absolutely FOREVER to come out, but the game was unique enough and has great potential to build off of with the sequels, which I'm glad are still coming. I may regret it later, but I am excited that SK was given this job. I don't think we'll see Mass Effect with mutants but I do believe we will get a solid X-Men game, which we have been lacking since X-Men Legends 2.

I thought I would hate Too Human, from all the negative press it got. But I actually sat down and played it, and wow ... it's pretty impressive. Great loot system, unique combat and very good replay value. It definitely had some problems but I had a lot of fun playing it.

I hope it's choices that really affect the mains toryline as opposed to just one scene here and there. Also hoping it isn't choices like:
"How do you want to break down this wall?"
-Use Cyclops' beam
-Have Wolverine scratch at it for awhile and he grunts noisily
-Look around for a switch
-Find another path

Not so much Too Human 2 but I was wondering if ANYTHING Silicon Knights was working on. After Too Human's release it felt like they went deathly silent.

The reason for that is because so many gamers bitched and moaned that Too Human wasn't The Greatest Game Ever Made, after Dyack talked it up so much in the years leading up to its release.
He must have learned from that mistake, and decided to let his future games do the talking.
Seems nothing's is worse than an expectant gamer scorned.

Gamers are way, way too hard on SK (and probably more accurately, Denis Dyack). They've made some absolutely fantastic games, and for what it's worth, I didn't love Too Human, but thought it was definitely in the realm of 'very good'.
Dyack may talk a little too much, but I met him once and think he's a really cool, nice and smart guy. I support the SK folks in St. Catharines, and here's hoping this X-Men game kicks ass!

Either you didn't read the story which had that information. Or you did read it and tried to sound clever.
You FAILED either way.

Whoa Too Human is 12 dollars on Amazon! May have to check it out finally...deathspank has whetted my appetite for diablo-style games. One question--are u able to play as a girl? my girlfriend likes these diablo-style games as well, but her interest usually drops if she cant play as a girl.

I soloed my way through Two Human. The first few hours were fun, but by the end of the game I was praying for the end.
It certainly didnt seem like the end result of 10 years(?) of work. So my faith in Silicon Knights as a dev is pretty low right now.

Denis Dyack as playable character please. Was Raven not available to do the game cause X-Men Legends was pretty great in my opinion. Oh well any chance to play as Cyclops is always a good thing.

I just know they have huge Shoes to Fill, Batman:AA has raised the bar for Super hero games and so far no one has top that for Super heroes. SK will do fine, Make this Online with Too Human elements it would be good.

Gorram it, sure, Too Human had issues, but conceptually it was brilliant, not to mention a nerd-gasm for fans of Norse mythology

I'm very much doubting this game is going to be a "Choice" based game in the form of Mass effect or whatnot. Odds are you've just been discovered as a mutant, but your mutant power is that you can choose your mutant powers. in other words, you'll probably get XP by bashing things up, and then put that XP towards stuff lie optic blasts, cool claws, or teleportation.
Still, interesting concept. I'm willing to give SK one more chance.
