There is no such thing as Fox News, you either have to say Fox "News" or Fox Editorial.

I have to watch snippets of Fox News every time I pass through the break room at work. As someone who considers himself pretty conservative, I've got to say it's gotten VERY hard to tell if they're joking or not.

All news is biased, no matter what it is. If you want absolutely no bias, watch C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2.

Fox News FTL

@Co

FYI, Joystiq = same company as CNN.

And while TV is a terrible source of news, I think Fox News isn't nearly as bad as some people claim it is. Whenever I happen to watch it, it's extremely loud and simplistic, but it's also fairly accurate for its news coverage. Much more so than, say, CNN, like I said both Time Warner companies. Has Fox News ever covered up for a violent dictator in exchange for favorable proximity? Nope. Eason Jordan of CNN admitted to doing the same.

I could rattle off a long list of problems with CNN, but there's no point. Fox News is far more trusted than the competition, and I guess that's what's up with the constant 'Fox News is EVIL!!!' hysteria. It really is probably the best of the few cable news stations, and markedly superior to network stations.

I wouldn't recommend it... it's TV news and thus it's very little information and too flashy. But if by FTL you meant extremely successful and trusted, you're right.

The best news you can possibly get is the BBC. It can't get any less biased than that, or better for that matter.

@Dustin F Oh, yes. "...but it's also fairly accurate for its news coverage. "
I assume you don't remember the Mass Effect smearing? They claimed it was "Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas", if I remember clearly. And where did they get their "research"? Why they looked around on some conservative blog that said similar things about the game.
You know what this proves? Your case for Fox "News" is entirely invalid. Fox News is not even considered real news by educated people. So, one could make the conclusion that people who watch it are either grossly uneducated, or have an "every man for himself so the government shouldn't help people in need" philosophy typical of Republicans.

That's not to say that I'm particularly happy with Barack right now. I tend to lean towards the right on financial issues, but towards the left on social issues, so the 2012 election is a tremendous lose lose in my opinion.

Yes I did watch the video. I realize is wasn't the Mass Effect scandle, I just didn't find her joke of the President having "special moves" funny. At all. Besides I just generally hear stupid things coming from that network. "Obama a Socialist" is scrolled across the screen every 10 mins is reason enough.

@Destroy All Pixels

I can't stand Fox News, but yet I still take issue with what you said. The problem is your original comment was "can't prove themselves to be any dumber," which you apparently based on a failed attempt at a joke. One does not lead to the other, especially when newscasters make horrible jokes all the time.

What it comes down to is, there's about a billion valid reasons to rip on Fox News, so when you do it for a shoddy reason like this it weakens all the legitimate criticisms against them. That just becomes something for the opposition to use, to focus on and point out saying, "Look, they're grasping at straws in order to attack us, which surely must be because they have nothing better to complain about." You shouldn't be grasping at straws when there are plenty of... whatever you are supposed to grasp at to be grasped.

Hope that all made sense.
