It's dumb that cloning a Jedi creates someone who has all previous Jedi knowledge. If that is what they're going with, why did they bother cloning Jango Fett and not a bunch of Darth Vaders?

@acefondu

Do you know how confusing that would get?

"Luke... I am your father!"
"No, I am your father!"
"NO I AM YOUR FATHER!"
"No me!"
"No, ME!"
"Herp a derp."

If you've read the books you'd know Palpatine has done this with himself in fact.
It seems the origins of such cloning began to exist with this game, so I presume they had not achieved such a feat. before in Eps I-IIII.

By the looks of the trailer and the loud statement of "That's impossible, you can't clone a Jedi," by one of the characters, your complaint will be a major plot point.

@acefondu Alright well there are a couple reasons. Using some of the EU as an example, in the Thrawn trilogy Joruus C'baoth was a cloned Jedi. They established there that the cloning of Jedi and that attempt at manipulating the force caused insanity. Now with Episodes 1-3 it would be inferred that it was really the cloning of midichlorians that causes the insanity. Something that no one has been able to perfect.

Now in the trailer we see that the clones had all gone insane. Possibly its a countdown until the insanity kicks in. Or quite possibly to Vader the insanity is that they are of right mind, and wish to rebel. Likewise someone on kotaku brought up a good point. IF a clone does have the memories, but has a fresh opinion on matters, he may choose differently. So extrapolate that, if we cloned Anakin would he 10/10 times become Vader? Or would he by chance become the Jedi everyone knew he could be. If Palpatine cloned Vader and Vader realized the error of his ways (As Starkiller has) then Palpatine would have a full bodied Anakin Skywalker hunting down the Empire.

Now that would be pimp as hell, but ultimately an issue for Palpatine. Cloning hasn't been an exact science for Jedi and the risk is just too great. However Vader does want to usurp Palpatine eventually so risk doesn't matter to him.

This trailer just made me think that it would have been awesome (although it's cancelled) for the force unleashed 3 to have him have THREE lightsabers.

dunno how he'd carry it. But it be pretty sick.

Also clearly the clones weren't ever fixed and they had to go with dumbed down stormtroopers.

He will carry it with the force.

Obviously.

Just a third lightsaber floating around with him.

@luce1sw

He carries one in each hand and the force just waves the third one around him like a spare ship in a Japanese spaceship scroller.

The force can explain just about any plot or logic problem, after all.

@luce1sw I'd tell you where he keeps the third one, but you probably won't like it...

@uverpanda this is exactly what I was thinking, although using the force makes much more sense.

although then he'd constantly have a force drain and probably couldn't lightning the crap out of everything.

@luce1sw Uhh... Weird thing I just thought of. They stopped cloning because the Kamino cloners rebelled against the empire, so they had to start using regular folk to be lightsaber fodder.
Why did they start cloning for Vader then? O.O

Because clones of Jedi always go crazy. Well, almost always, it would seem.

It's hard to believe that is supposed to be in the world as the original trilogy where only a handful of people believe that the Force even exists.

correct me if anyone is willing,

is this some sort of set up to give explaination that they used starkiller as a mass cloning experiment for the goal of perfecting a cloned jedi/sith w/o the risk of insanity?

would this have anything to do for the ultimate goal of palpatine using cloning purposes plus body transferring on himself to continue his existence?

hell did ol' pappy cloned himself a couple times after the movies?

Is it wrong to look more forward to Star Wars video games than the movies themselves? Why is it that Star Wars in the video game realm delivers more of what fans want than the movies they are based on?

I feel like this trailer should have had a *spoilers* warning...
I mean, it can't be very close to the beginning that he fights Darth Vader plus other clones of himself, can it?!
