Konami's classic X-Men arcade game coming to PSN and XBLA

Konami's classic, six-player X-Men arcade beat-em-up will make its way to the XBLA and PSN platforms, as revealed during Marvel's New York Comic Con 2010 presentation. Marvel Games' T.Q. Jefferson revealed that the title will be ported by its original developer to the two platforms "soon," and will retain its six-player cap, achieveable through an online co-op mode.

Jefferson didn't reveal a price for the title -- we'll try and ascertain more information while on the floor at NYCC. Also, we call Dazzler. Don't even try to get in here and play as Dazzler. We called her.

Same reason we're seeing MVC3...Marvel/Disney finally got smart and licensed their IP's out to multiple companies instead of keeping it to one.

@NaeemTHM. Hey, at least we got it! I remember playing this in a hotel arcade on summer vacation when I was a kid. I spent twenty bucks prolly running back to my mom at the beach to beg for more quarters. :)

i had forgotten all about the Simpson's arcade game.

i've been hankerin for this game since they started talking about what XBLA could become.

my brother brought me a VHS tape when i was a kid, it was the cartoon Pride of the X-Men and basically my intro to the whole Marvel Universe. and the graphics in this game look exactly like the cartoon. such great memories with this game. Nightcrawler ftw!

This is nice and all, but I think I speak for most when I say we'd all prefer Konami's THE SIMPSONS arcade game. I mean seriously, are they ever gonna re-release that shit?

Yes, the Simpson's arcade game would be freaking sweet! Its been way too long since I have beaten the piss out of Burns in his mech suit with a vacuum cleaner to steal back the giant diamond.

@Quack2TheFuture I don't think you speak for most of us. The Simpsons game was cool and all, and I hope this helps it get a release, but it can't touch the X-Men game.

But YES! The Simpson's would be awesome. I've seriously wanted a home-console version of that since the early '90s!

Definitely want the Simpson's arcade, but please leave it as a straight port. Don't ruin it like they did with Turtles in Time.

In fact, release the original arcade version of Turtles in Time as well.

I've dumped a ton of quarters in the simpson arcade game.
I want them to release it soooo bad!! I've never actually beat it either. The furthest I've made it is the dream world
