I really think they should have focused on fewer characters, and given them more moves. With that said it does look like a decent hack n' slash game. I'm really holding out for a new Onimusha though. Onimusha Dawn of Dreams is somewhere in my top 20 favorite games of all time list . Capcom, hear my plea!!!!!

Dawn of Dreams was awesome! Another game would be nice and who knows we may see it in the future. I had given up on Capcom doing another Mega Man Legends, but now the third game is in the planning stages.
I can't believe we can't edit posts after they're up.

Wow... this is ridiculous. A Dynasty Warriors clone? What the hell is happening to Capcom? In what universe did they think this was a good idea?
Yes edofyingfilms, that would be sarcasm.

@Vageryn It's a Dynasty Warriors clone that's more fun and outlandish than Dynasty Warriors.

@Vageryn I have the Japanese version of this game and it blows Dynasty out of the water. I will admit I have only played DW6, but there is just way more to do in this game and much more replay value than in Dynasty... and that is coming from someone who has loved anything to do with Romance of the Three Kingdoms since NES days (Romance of the The Kingdoms, Destiny of an emperor, etc.).

@barrit Wow, I already gathered that from the demo I played, but hearing it from someone who actually played the full game is awesome. I'm even more excited for it now. 8D

Yea, it's an awesome game. I've been playing it as much as I can since I got it in August. It really surpassed any expectations I had of it. There is just so much to do and a lot of different cutscenes and different endings. One trophy is to have played for 100hrs and I'm sure I'll be hitting that any day now, and I'm not still not even nearly done with all the characters different endings. For $40 too.. that is a hell of a deal considering some new games come out for $60 and you beat it in a day or 2.

That's cool. I just rolled my eyes when I saw the video and all I could think of was DW. I'm a fan of the Romance games myself, but after a while the Dynasty games just lost their appeal.
I'll admit the game looks completely outlandish and I'll take your word on it's fun factor and replay value for now, but something tells me I'm looking at a mindless button masher, not that they aren't fun but they get old quick, but hey that's why they have rental places.

@Vageryn Trust, me, I can tell you just from the demo that it's not a "mindless button masher".
I mean, I'm sure on some parts you can get through with button mashing, but there's really no reason to. The characters have varieties of attacks and skills and it's actually pretty fun finding out what cancels into what, (sort of like a fighting game.)
And on top of that there's attacks you can unlock throughout the game, so it's not going to be like one of those games where you get two attacks to go through the whole game with. There's plenty of variety.
It's definitely got more variety than Dynasty Warriors. And bosses in this game will actually require skill, such as guarding, dodging and parrying.

I'm a long-time fan of the 'Warriors series. I personally don't like how the playable characters stand out SO much from the infantry and are getting more and more ridiculous.
Example: Yukimura Sanada dual-wields two Yaris now?
I am well aware that this game is about Japan, but... it's sooo "Jappy" now.

This game is very over the top and VERY loosely based on the actual history. The series doesn't take itself seriously.. if you've ever seen the anime, you'll know exactly what I mean. This game is pretty hilarious and entertaining though. I can't speak for the English version since I have the Japanese version. So far what I've seen of the English version.. the humor doesn't exactly translate over so well all the time. Judging from the the videos I've seen, the English voice actors seem to try to sound serious and it just makes the dialogue corny

So it's like 90% of western anime voice acting in that regard?

Short answer is Yea
Some of the English voice acting is ok for some characters, others are just far off or just plain bad.. either way, their personalities just don't quite translate over the same.
I've watched the first season of the anime and started to watch the 2nd season.. and this is just something I couldn't look past, so I imported instead.
Unless you're a fan of the anime, I guess this isn't a big deal since it is still an excellent game. I still hope the game does well in hopes that Capcom will put in the original VOs if there is another SB game in the future. Another nice side effect of this game's success can be to get Koei to finally stop being so damn lazy and have to step up their game in the genre... or maybe it's all wishful thinking haha.
