Ever since we first heard that Daft Punk would be creating the soundtrack for Tron: Legacy (the upcoming film from Disney), we've been hoping that music from our favorite French space aliens would make its way to Tron: Evolution, the game tie-in from Propaganda Games. In a panel at New York Comic Con this weekend, Disney Interactive senior PR manager Eric Wein confirmed as much, answering a fan's question on the subject by saying, "We haven't announced details for the soundtrack, we will soon. We can tell you it'll be a combination of the film's soundtrack and some unique, original music."
We'll be holding our breath in anticipation for that forthcoming full soundtrack announcement and, of course, playing lots of DJ Hero.

Hm. I don't think that's the Daft Punk version, rather someone else (Cryda Luv I believe)'s mix. Here's what it should sound like:

@Drake Lake ahh thanks for sharing that, you're right it sounds more like them. I almost shat a brick because I thought that video was from DCA, now I'll need to investigate to see if that's hidden behind the wall there.

I like Daft Punk but I honestly feel Crystal Method would have been better suited for the songtrack

It's a shame Daft Punk couldn't make real music instead.

Had that soundtrack pre-ordered since day.
That might've been the first soundtrack I ever pre-ordered, and I don't really buy CDs anymore.

If there's any musician that could evoke the same sense of wonder and "inside the machine-ness" that Wendy Carlos' original score did, it's Daft Punk without a doubt. So, yeah.
I'm just hoping the soundtrack gets officially released. I'm looking at you, Black Rock/Disney, because I want the damn Split/Second disc already!

Does it have a lightcycle battle mode like Tron 2.0? That's all I want.

I'm more excited for the Soundtrack than I am the film/game. It's sounding like it will be up there with Vangelis' Bladerunner score as all time greatest sci-fi soundtracks.
Oh and Daft Punk are robots, not space aliens.

I'll be playing DJ Hero2 for sure. But DP for the Tron soundtrack should be okay. I'd rather Crystal Method or even Chemical Brothers but CM more than anyone else.
For the record, I don't have much hope for this game .... but it is on my radar.
