Andy writes to tell us his buddy has completed work on the new American Eagle site. No, we aren't directing you to seasonal Zelda jammies (would you wear those?) -- the update includes a "hidden" Asteroids mode! Just add "?mode=asteroids" to the end of any page url to crack this Easter egg open.
The minigame appears to be an implementation of the "kick ass" javascript recently released by 18-year-old Swede Erik Rothoff Andersson. The script -- go on, try it -- can be run on any site to transform it into an Asteroids playing field (press "B" to highlight targets). Can you beat our high score on this page? (1490!)

It will be impossible to keep your high score as the more people comment the more targets there are for more score.

I feel compelled to tell you that i think the code "easter egg" was taken from this site...
http://erkie.github.com/
I could be wrong in that AE did it first?? but i've been blasting sites astroids style for at least a week now thanx to this site and its bookmark .js code.

@ezkialrage AE definitely did not create the game. The script on AE is actually a modified fork of the original erkie.github.com piece.
Erik did an awesome job building it. When we saw the game, we figured that an implementation directly into the site would be a perfect way to make browsing AE a little more fun for all of you and simultaneously share Erik's creation with our customers.

The best thing to do is to go to the american eagle site, then activate the javascript from your browser. DOUBLE ASTEROIDS.
