Just a friendly hint: Try the Sonic 4 demo before you buy. Something just doesn't feel right about it. =/

He feels a little sluggish to get going but I remember the originals being that way. I played the demo and I enjoyed it enough to warrant a purchase.

I felt the same way. It felt a little...clunky? If that's the right word to use. I have to give Sega credit for going back to the Genesis style Sonic game but it just...as you said, doesn't feel right

Just played it. It feels pretty much like Sonic to me. I think it might just be the new graphics and animations that make him seems a little sluggish when you first take off.

You're right. The physics seem....off.

Basically you can't "roll" your way out of a half pipe anymore. Also the momentum while in the air doesn't feel right either. As if you stop short if you no longer press forward.

At least the iphone version is like that. I'm hoping thats not the same case with the console versions.

It is the same case, unfortunately. The controls feel really stiff. I was worried as such just looking at all the gameplay videos. I was hoping I was wrong. It's not godawful, mind you. It's just not what you expect from the 16-bit-style controls.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze Its that damn homing move, it makes the make too easy but if you try not to use it feels so awkward. It seems the game is based around that move and its just wierd.

I just finished playing the demo, and noticed the same thing. No matter how many speed boosts I'd run through, or how fast I was going, I could never make it out of any of the half/quarter pipe spots.

Clear example: Speed boost immediately followed by 2 full 360 loops where the second loop lets out to an open straight. I'd hold down, build speed, and let loose into the speed booster, clear the first loop (with a noticeable loss in speed) then only make it about 1/3 through the next loop before rolling back out. That should not happen in any Sonic games.

I just played the demo. The first odd thing I notice is that if you hold over in a jump you come to a dead stop in the middle and drop down if you let go of the left / right button. Straight down. In old Sonic you still had some drift in whatever direction when you let go. Also, when going at lower speeds you come to a dead stop when you let go of over.

There having that drift or the "breaking" even at moderate speeds gave the old games a feel of momentum that feels lost. The controls were intentionally imperfect, and you always had to sacrifice control for speed. Now, however, that feel is missing.

This isn't a deal breaker and I'll still buy the game when it goes on sale (with my backlog buying any game at full price seems stoopid), but the lack of momentum seems off.

Too late, already bought it, sight unseen. And I've yet to play it because I started downloading late last night.

That guy from the Playstation Blog that's always posting about God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta said that in the next few weeks, we'll be getting Playstation Plus exclusive avatars.

Of course, he said that almost a month ago... So... :(

Why is Dead Space Ignition listed as $9.99. They said it would be five dollars on the PS Blog.

I think they did a good job for sonic 4. I only played the trail though. The only thing that throws me off is it takes a while for him to get up to top speed and it's not as fast as I thought it would be. Otherwise they did a good job.

@Guts mmm, the psp port of zenonia is laggier than the iphone version(or is the iphone version always laggy...). well, the game is really slow and it shows really well when you save the game and it loads up the save screen :\

oh, btw, first psp mini to switch the O and X button.

Sony is pretty much psychic for when my nostalgia for clunky PS1 RPG's starts to peak.

Zenonia is awesome. It would definitely good on PSP since the one thing I hated about it on iPhone was the horrible virtual d-pad.

Wait... hold on just a minute, is the US not getting all of the FallOut 3 DLC free for PSN+? Is that just EU?

Honestly, Sonic 4 is just Sonic 1 with worse physics, split into parts, with a homing attack thrown in. Sonic 3 and Knuckles still stands as the best the series will ever get in 2D... if you even mention Sonic advance or Dash, I WILL CRUSH YOU.

The LBP costumes (MotorStorm and Unchartered) are those released last year for game pre-orders: a $2-value. At least, both CAPCOM games are cheaper on PSN than the UMD sale announced last week.

I'll wait to read some reviews about Zenonia port to the PSP before paying the extra money compared to the Ipod version. Being able to use the d-pad and joystick should make it easier to control. Besides, such game tends to empty my Ipod battery too fast; I prefer using my PSP.
