Fallout: New Vegas dev diary takes us on a tour of 'The Strip'
36
Unlike a lot of the landmarks in Fallout 3, the Vegas strip in Fallout: New Vegas mostly survived the apocalyptic meltdown of America in tact. Sure, the roads are a bit scarred and the buildings could use some paint, but it's all there. Vegas, baby!

If this is anything like Fallout 3 (which it is), then I'd wait for a GOTY edition with all the DLC.
The money you will theoretically save could buy you a new game.

@Prinnywithascarf You're right but I'm not really big on waiting for GOTY editions or price drops on games I really want. I'll wait for a price drop before I pick up the new Castlevania game but Fallout I'll take next week. :)

I will be sorely disappointed if this game does not include Fear & Loathing references.

2 great RPGs, both totally different, one month, and not enough cash!
This or Fable 3??

@Pete207 Seeing as I finished Fallout 3 2 and a half times, and didn't even get through my first playthrough of Fable 2 (I got bored), I'd recommend Fallout new Vegas!

Fallout New Vegas will be longer than the 2.5 hour long main story in Fable 3. But Fallout New Vegas will again prove that Bethesda has no sense of humor and completely missed what made the original so great. You guess is as good as any as to which will be better. Swimming in a sea of mediocrity.

I hope I have lots of things to do off the strip too, what I loved in fallout 3 was exploring the abandoned buildings like the nuka cola factory and the homes in the minefield.

But Peter said playing Fable 3 will allow you to actually time travel

Um.. this might be a dumb question, but has texas hold-em or any form a of poker been confirmed for this game? I mean I always see blackjack, roulette, and slots in the vids, but never poker. That would be the game that takes up most of my gambling time and Obsidian would be remiss for leaving it out. Anybody know?

I kbpw what you mean, I felt the same with fallout 2 though, I loved the game. I just felt it was missing something, and vagas, with the lights and culture seem to have fixed that. Fable 3 seems like it's improved a lot since 2 aswel. This is where I'm stuck, and being RPGs, I can't see a demo for either lol
Stuck between a rock and a hard place :(

WOAH! On the right side of this page, Joystiq lists the MSRP as 49.99 USD. Is that right?
If so, I payed $10 too much for this beauty......and I would have payed even more if it came down to it.....

How many add on expansion's are expected for Vegas?
Also in F 3' the mention of vaults in Oklahoma could be
interesting as it is the most geographically diverse state
in the US ie. sand dunes ,mesa's ,mountains, prairies, deep
forests, and not to mention no man's land state park.
