Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood trailer will stab you so many times
42
Apparently, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood's Harlequin multiplayer character -- available only as a pre-order bonus from Gamestop -- didn't get the memo about, you know, stealth. Check out the trailer below to check out his (or her?) uniquely brutal, acrobatic style of dude-murdering.

You don't have to be stealthy if you're the best.

Guess I'm the only one that thinks the "deadly harlequin" doesn't look as imposing or interesting as the other character models... that and I have no intention of giving gamestop my money.

Ubisoft makes awesome trailers for AC games. Trailers that GET YOU PUMPED UP for the games. They make me smile.

Both videos are pretty awesome. But this video always got me really pumped for AC1:

I can't believe how excited I was for the game. Definitely my most hyped for game of all time. That and MGS2..

The Harlequin's moves make all the other kill animations look dull. Except for the Courtesan and Barber's, of course.

@IggyFandango Thanks for saying the barber. Best kill animations. But yea I agree, a lot of the kills are really dull.

Wow... That was an awesome trailer! :) All these games making serious trailers all the time... Its good to see some that are just fun to watch. U don't have to sell me a deep story mode.. Just make it look fun.

I wasn't so impressed with the trailer, actually. I saw standard AC climbing gameplay, and two different assassination animations re-used three or four times.
Still excited though. *shrug*

Ugh, an even longer kill animation that leaves you super vulnerable. Honestly, I'm pretty sure all of the kill animations are a fixed time, but it's still incredibly frustrating. I hope they fix that.

I don't know, but I'm starting to get bothered by onlookers not being bothered by all the killing going on. I mean these people just kinda keep doing what they're doing without even as much as a glance. Is that only in the trailers maybe? I haven't played the 2nd one yet but if that's how it is now I think it's really gonna ruin my immersion.

@2late2die *face palm*
It's online - if everyone was to react than it would defeat the whole purpose of blending into the crowd. And the online mode is awesome (if you're good and it works right).

Ha! So what's the challenge of blending into the crowd if the crowd is basically there for the sole purpose of letting you blend in? Note, how I didn't comment on the fact that the crowd is composed of the exact same 8 (or whatever) avatars, that just happen to be the same ones available to players. That would be one of those cases where gameplay trumps realism. However, I think with a crowd reacting to the kill they could've created an interesting mechanic.
If you perform your kill in a stealthy fashion, like a quiet stab in the back followed by a pretense of setting the target down on a nearby bench for a nap, or a quick drag into an alley and a slit throat (are those kinds of kills even an option in MP, stealthy that is?), then by all means, no one notices and you just keep walking. But if you jump off a roof and do half a dozen stabs in the chest then I think it only makes sense if some peeps in the crowd start screaming and others pointing at you. You then have to get out of the way, maybe a dark alley, maybe a rooftop, or at least behind a corner of a big building, before things quiet down again.

@2late2die Yes while that would be cool in some instances. It would also suck for the person that was blending into that crowd that is now running away because some newb likes to do high profile kills all the time. It would break the premise.

Man I am pumped to play this game for some reason. I think the prospect of owning my own assassins that are always awaiting my orders in the shadows really appeals to me.

@Nashk same, i absolutely loed AC2 so much i even put the effort in to 100% it which i rarely do, ACB sounds so good ,all the new things like having your own assassins and horse combat and taking on the oppressive borgia and gaining there terroty back, its gonna be so fun, definite candidate for GOTY i have no doubt :D

I miss altair. Ezio's character was a little b$tch. You don't need to jaw-jack to be bad ass...

@jrobington i felt Altair was a bit of a shallow character, he didnt really say much and we didnt really know much about him, i prefered Ezio we discovered how he became an assassin and his motives :)i felt like i knew him more.

Raised at birth to be a assassin and not caring about the death of his parents would make anyone like that. Altho I like the mystery of Altair. But I agree with you fully you have more of a connection with Ezio.
Maybe because this time around your not really forced into the animus to find something for someone else but for you to become a badass.
But I have to add both environments look absolutely beautiful, I really cant wait to see What they have done with Rome :D.
Also Ezio best trailer would either be the Massive attack one or the CG one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UM_fufj8f0 that made me go.....damm i have to get that when thats out.
