:( That stinks. It was an interest of mine to work in Australia at Pandemic or Krome, if only to become more worldly (and drink and surf too much.)

I still remember E3 2005, where a very cute Krome staffer was dressed as Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.

Awww, what the heck? I'm actually liking Blade Kitten pretty well and there is a second episode currently in beta. I wonder if this means that we'll never see it.

Although considering prevailing opinion of the game, I doubt many will shed a tear.

"Most recently, Krome worked on Microsoft's Game Room"

Well, there's your reason right there.

I didn't even know you could develop games in Australia. I figured a group of jackbooted thugs would kick down your studio door, tell you "No worries, mate." and start clubbing you.

@Elmoogle

Na man, that only happens in Canada. And even then, only if you're a baby seal.

no love lost. game room was an awful concept and the execution has been piss poor from start to [an early and unremarkable] finish

Sorry to hear that. So go my hopes for Imagic games and a Colecovision presence in Game Room. Here's hoping that Microsoft partners with Backbone Entertainment (formerly Digital Eclipse) in order to keep Game Room alive.

Unless they were forced at gunpoint to make Gameroom, screw these guys. The achievements are broken, the GFW version will steal ms points from you, it's just a mess in general.

I was intrigued to see if they would improve on the problems and shortcomings of Blade Kitten in its , at least planned, sequel/next episode. I enjoyed the demo of the first one, but it had just a few things that were off about it that could be touched up (relatively) easily.

Oh well.

@Alexisonfire From what I've heard, the next episode is mostly done. I've also heard it's fairly similar to the first, but regardless, it might still come out.

@RadiantViper - I've heard the same about Episode 2 being almost finished. There's a bunch of people beta testing it on the PC right now.

I have hope that it's one of the projects that they say some employees have been hired on to finish as contract workers. I liked the first episode well enough that I'd be happy with more of the same.

That's a shame. Blade Kitten seems like some good fun. Is that the only thing that they've made so far? I thought the game has a pretty good reception. How could you be "quite" successful with your first launch, then still have to close down?

Look at the Wikipedia page. Or even just read the posts in this topic.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is
I did. That's why I was wondering. I've never heard of this Game Room, but Blade Kitten was quite well received. Considering that's 1 out of 2, (and that Blade Kitten 2 seems to be in the making), I just don't see why the company died.

It's kinda like having a business plan that reads: Even if we make good products, we will still close down. Granted this Game Room thing probably bombed pretty hard, BK should've been able to pull them out of the rut..or so I thought.
Maybe they just wanted to go out with a bang and didn't expect to survive when they made it anyway.
