I'm a bit surprised they are still giving this whole Tony Hawk on a board thing another shot.

I'm confused, is 'olly' spelt wrong in the title intentionally? :S

I read the article but don't get the humour :(

I was excited because I live about twenty minutes from the Plymouth Meeting mall and I love skateboarding games, but then I read that it would be using the skateboard peripheral. Can't I try out the new Shaun White game instead? That's a game that may not actually be sht.

Seeing as how Robomodo just got done laying off staff...

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/13/robomodo-lays-off-unspecified-number-of-staff-leads-remain/

...it's hard to believe that the dev team spent time trying to make this the best game it could be rather than just making a game to try and squeeze out a little bit more money from people who foolishly invested in Tony Hawk Ride. At least the price is a little more reasonable this time.

@Lerkero

Actually, the layoffs hit weeks after most of the studio was hit with lay offs. So, yes, they did try to make this the best game they could.

@knowWhatYouTalkAbout
Don't mix up my words...

"Best game IT could be" - me
"Best game THEY could" - you

I never implied the development team didn't work hard on the title. I'm saying that with this being a year after the first failed game and the studio obviously not having a strong financial investment right now, there was little chance the game would have improved much from last year.

Rockaway Townsquare isn't in NYC, its all the way out in Rockaway, NJ. Why they're doing it in that mall of all places makes no sense to me, Garden State Plaza would have been a much better choice if they couldn't find a place actually in NYC to show off the game

At this point in time, I can't honestly say I am even the least bit excited for Tony Hawk games.

Damn, I used to love playing the Pro Skater games back then.

I got sad by reading robomodo's situation on layoffs but maybe its good for tony hawk series. Activision can switch the developer and we can taste a fresh th game. Maybe neversoft takes back the ip.
