Xbox holiday bundle with Forza 3, downloadable Alan Wake headed to multiple territories
30
Just in case you were worried that there weren't quite enough Xbox 360 bundles to choose from, it looks like Microsoft has another one headed down the pike. The bundle in question includes a 250GB Xbox 360 S console as well as Alan Wake and the eternal pack-in, Forza Motorsport 3. The image above -- pulled directly from one of Microsoft's retailer resource services -- is denoted as a Canadian bundle.
Siliconera also reports that the bundle has been announced for South Korea at a price of 398,000 won ($356). A tipster has informed Kotaku that the bundle is available in Europe as well, retailing for €250 ($348). We've contacted Microsoft to find out if the bundle is coming stateside as well.
One intriguing note about the bundle: It doesn't actually include a physical copy of Alan Wake, instead offering a code to download the game in its entirety (see a close-up image in the gallery below). While it's likely to be a Games on Demand title in the near future, it's also worth noting that Remedy has expressed interest in releasing the game in downloadable episodes, a la Fable 2.

Forza 3 and Alan Wake are $30 each. So.. if it's $350, you're saving $10!!! Sweet... I mean...

Just because something converts to $x doesn't mean it will retail here for $x.
250euro is what the console retails for normally in Europe already, so the fact that the bundle is 250euro means that they're including the games without raising the price, the same way they have just about every holiday season so far.

But it won't because if you saw what they did in the past with these deals, you would know how they operate. That's like saying IF xbox live goes to a hundred dollars next year, I'm not paying for it. It won't so it wouldn't make sense to say that.

@FrozenPlasma In Europe the prices are not converted, they're most of the times the same. When the PS3 is 299 dollars in the US, it's 299 euros over here. Only with the Xbox it's 299 dollars in the US and 250 euros in Europe (That's the price of a regular Xbox). So it's stupid that they're always converting currency in blog posts, rather than retail prices.

Typically, 2 games bundled with a 360 don't increase its price so it should be $299.99 over here.

Not a bad deal

Boy, they love sticking Forza in bundles.
Also, Alan Wake is a solid choice!

Good to see some Alan Wake loving.

750,000/43,800,000 360 owners bought it. I guess it's a way to generate some more Alan Wake sales, well in this case... give it away.

@Dannyboi68 The 2GB limit only applies to Arcade titles; Games On Demand (GOD?) doesn't have that limit (though, I'm sure they have some sort of limit - 10GB?).

Good Alan Wake could really benefit from becoming a downloadable game.

Agreed. I think it's a game that could do well episodically, since it stays pretty exciting throughout the whole thing (not to mention the DLC, which I really need to finish)

What I want to know is there a Kinect version of this bundle cause I see myself buying a Kinect bundle anyway so why not combine the two.

Sucks for people with no high-speed internet and GS. I was hoping to get this bundle on the cheap.

new controller?

@182 I think no on the new controller. at least here in the US it's available for now only as a peripheral with rechargeable battery and USB charge cable included for $65. But I hear the new d-pad isn't really any better than the old, or not much, and the rest is essentially the same

I'd love to see a US bundle with two games I don't actually own or have already played for $350 or less before I add a Slim to the existing 360. The kids have all gotten old enough we need two of every console but the poor little Wii -- it gets some use but nothing like PS3/360. In fact this very bundle in the States would be fine with me.

I hope Alan Wake sells a lot more copies like this/when it's on GoD since it's truely one of the most special and unique games, not only of this year but of this gen

Wow. This has to be at least the sixth new SKU just with the new Xbox 360 since June. They should slow down with all of these bundles.

@CrashTunoku Slow down why? Are you having trouble keeping up, buying them all? Just more options for people.
