With Steam coming to Mac, there's been a much more concerted effort to bring games to Macs. I wonder if they'll ever be as big as they were, or if it will be a slow trickle as it is now.

@ch3burashka

I would say any trickle is better than no trickle.

Especially when that trickle comes from Valve (pun totally intended)...

Civ has been on the Mac for a while, at least since Civ 3 if not earlier. Age of Empires is on the Mac as well.

@Ashkental Yes, so what? Microsoft makes Office for Mac, why wouldn't they let their games come over too?

Not only AoE and AoM, but Halo CE, Fable, and Rise of Legends as well. Gears of War was also supposed to be ported, but that never happened.

Well knowing CIV4 was on Mac; I am glad I waited and did not buy windows version since my Mac is my main machine.

You buy one version you get to play on both. For most games at least, including CIV IV so I'd assume CIV V would follow suit.

Diplomacy? Please. CIV V burned diplomacy down and pissed on its ashes.

There is virtually no meaningful diplomacy or AI in this game. It is simply a glorified RISK game. Plain and simple.

Still damn fun but diplomacy and the U.N died a horrible and tragic death in this game.

Wow. This is happening much faster than I expected it. Bravo, Aspyr and 2k Games/Firaxis. Bravo.

Interesting choice of headline, given that diplomacy in Civ V is practically a dead-end towards victory. That said, they are patching the AI, so hopefully it'll get back up to scratch in the near future

I found this excerpt left out of the press release!

'As Mac fans look forward to the release of Civilization 5, PC Gamers have been putting the game through rigorous beta testing making sure Apple uses have an incredible first time experience with the game.....'

Diplomacy? What diplomacy? Diplomacy takes a back seat to outright war.

Oh no... there goes the last lingering shred of productivity in my life. And here I thought I was safe with Civ being PC only.
