Zen Pinball and Castle Crashers top PSN sales in September

Looks like Castle Crashers' volleyball was able to help win over PS3 owners. It tops the PSN sales charts for September as the best-selling paid game. At the top of the overall chart, however, is Zen Pinball, which earns its rank with the help of PlayStation Plus subscribers.

6. Sonic Adventure

9. Red Dead Redemption: Legends and Killers Pack (DLC)
10. DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue

Sad to not see Shank on there, though it's good to see Thongs of Virtue had better sales than On the Rain-Slick Episode II.

@Epoque I was going to buy Shank until I played the demo. If I get bored before finishing a demo, I probably shouldn't buy the game.

Totally agreed. I don't see even remotely see the appeal in Shank. I played that for about 5 minutes and then deleted it.

Wow, I don't even own any of those games, and I've bought quite a lot of content off the PSN. Though I think many of those games may be up there thanks to Playstation Plus.

I'm actually pretty surprised to see so many PS+ stuff on here. Seems like PS+ is doing better than we (or at least me) are expecting.

top 5 games were given away with +, I guess it's helping sony.

It might have been given away with + but Zen Pinball totally deserves that spot.

Some of those were with PS+, so I'm not sure I would classify those as "top sales". Maybe top downloads. I mean, maybe a sale since you buy PS+, but still.

Looks like Plus is doing pretty well than. It's at least doing well enough to beat ff7 in monthly sales. Which is pretty big!

Slightly OT, I met a person last week - PS3 owner, serious gamer - that didn't know about Super Stardust.
For cereals. It should be mandatory to download, right along with WipeOut HD/Fury.

@Squirtbot Agreed. Zen Pinball is great. If you have a PSP, Pinball Heroes is awesome too. It seems like pinball would be lame electronically but for some reason I can't get enough of a great virtual table. Also loved the Metroid Pinball for DS.

I'm Portuguese too and I bought Castle Crashers from the US store. It's cheaper and easy to do, you should do it too!

Surprised to see the Red Dead DLC on that list, I haven't bought any of the DLC for that game yet.

I grabbed a PSN+ account early on...I have to say that the top 5 are due to PSN subscribers. It shouldn't be such a big shock though, there wasn't much content to sell last month and as more people join...It only makes sense that they would take advantage of the "free" games.
PSN+ has gotten a lot of crap from people, somewhat deservingly so. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that I went ahead and subscribed...After Wipeout HD, which I wanted anyways, and the Qore subscription...It practically paid for itself! It introduced me to several games that I never would have tried, but ended up really enjoying. On the other hand, Sony hasn't really offered us up the cream of the crop among the PSOne classics. I have between 5 and 7 titles I would really see hit the free classics list, I'll be a believer when one of them jumps onto my console!
