Nice! Now we'll know how many copies of Super Meat Boy sold.

So they start doing this right after they stopped releasing sales numbers of individual titles?

How the heck would NPD track this anyways? Does Valve, Microsoft, Sony, D2D, etc. give them access to digital sales numbers?

So will this include public data? Or will the numbers still be hidden? Good on them for including the entire spectrum of distribution services, however.

Woah that is an impressive report. Must have taken a lot of resources to pull that together. You can be sure that that data will not be free. I'm sure sony, ms, and all the big pubs will be paying through the nose for that. But I imagine they will continue to use the information for PR.

Wow, there might be some PC games cracking the top 10 every once in awhile, now.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze

im pretty sure that already happens frequently, especially with the top ten consoles most of the times ranging from 150k units to 500, with a AAA title pulling in a few million when it comes in.

I am looking forward to used game sales. I've always wondered what kind of numbers they pull in - especially the "crappy" games.

My Pachter senses tell me that this report will be able to be summed up with "games industry makes an assload of money"
