I'm trying to understand the purpose for all these multiplat delays on PSN. Do you think developers are just putting PSN at the back of thier mind? :/

I don't know about this case specifically, but I know that in many cases Microsoft pays to get the title first.

I can understand in that case, but Lara Croft Co-op delays and others downloadable games? There was no payment was there? Unless it was not announced to us.

@Spunky Monkey 190906 the Lara Croft co-op delay was on every version of the game. I know in the past some devs were complaining that the PS3 was hard to work with, but that has lessened lately...i really don't know. Enjoy what you've got though...wish I had the Trine, flower, and the pixeljunk series on my xbox...

The Lara delay was both. The co-op wasn't complete and also the game was part of some type of Microsoft exclusivity deal to be part of Summer of Arcade.

So I think MS might have got riled up about the fact that the PC and PSN versions would launch with full functionality, whereas theirs had not - so the patch has timed exclusivity too.

This is all speculation btw.

@BlackedOut

I know it was delayed on both, but wasn't something regarding it released on 360 first, can't quite remember what it was, thought it was Co-op, apologies if it wasn't.

Flower and Pixel Junk are exclusives, I don't expect exclusives to jump ship, 360 has it's own and PS3 ahs its own, thats expected. I also understand the cases like Hydrophobia, whereby they have a timed exclusive contract, even if it wasn't a paid one, might be because of a good relationship with Microsoft. What I don't understand is cases like these where the game, beta or such is released on one console months ahead of the other and there is little or no explanation as to why.

@zefur

I thought it was awesome how they said they don't need to. They really don't. It is their game.

They didnt say they dont need to they said "they didn't have one to give." as in

"we have no clue as to why the game we are creating is not coming to PSN till atleast two months after it debuts on other platforms"

They do have a reason for it and whether it was a problem at sony or something else I would rather they said it.

But as a costumer, I demand a reason, if they still want my money.

I like the "Zen and the Art of Motorcyle Maintenance" reference in the titel of the article.

Game reminds me of a mix between fl0wer and PJ Shooter with a dash of Gravity Crash thrown in. Color me interested! I'm disappointed that it won't be dropping 'til next year on the PSN though.

@343 Guilty Fart

That too. I feel the similarities with Shooter are due to the whole subterranean look and narrow spaces to navigate your player through.

Considering the vast number of PSN delays, I'm tempted to guess that there's some sort of legal or software issue beyond microsoft paying for temporary exclusives. Something that is either streamlined by microsoft, or simply in the way for Sony. I've heard a lot of complaints about the difficulties involved with getting something onto PSN though, from developers. Then again, i've heard xbox live complaints too, though most of those are space limitations.
